Organization Tips by a Homeschooling Mom
As a homeschooling mom of four kids, all under 12 years old, including a little 2 year old bundle :),
I have to admit overwhelm is a feeling I often face.
BUT, the overwhelm doesn't come from my kids but from the fact that I want to work on my business all the time.
I LOVE what I do, so much, that I feel like doing IT all the time!!!! My work fulfills me and I feel a sense of accomplishment that feeds my soul and my self-esteem.
Discipline is a word we always hear that we associate with being disciplined and working on your business. As many people expect results from a little or no work.
Today however, I use discipline from another viewpoint, and that is being disciplined in how much time is being spend on working your business and making sure that that time is productive and effective.
Here are some tips that may help you organize your DMO (daily method of operation):
- Decide how many days and hours you will devote to your business
- Decide how much time you will be writing / producing videos or audios
- Decide how much of that time will be spend in social media
- Decide what is the best use of your time (eg: communicate, share content, e-mails)
And lastly, use your DISCIPLINE to stick to your plan!!!
Be real with yourself and don't allow distractions. Often times we opt into doing things we enjoy rather then complete things we don't.
So if today is a day to syndicate your video or article to the directories, then spend the hour that it takes to do that to get it done, rather then avoiding the task by communicating an extra hour.
If you are struggling in your business and you think that only if I had money to outsource, or if only I didn't have to work so much, or if only my kids weren't so loud and messy :)....
The real problem isn't your kids, your job, or the lack of money!
The real issue is YOU.
So, put a plan together and make a decision. Keep tweaking it until you master it!
After a couple of weeks you will realize that you have so much more time that your business will feel like child's play :)
