How to Stop Procrastination in Your Business
Have you ever been at a point in your business where you don’t know how to move forward? The path a head is not clear. You don’t know what the outcome will be. You are afraid to take action. You are hesitant to put more money into advertising or marketing your business because you don’t know whether you make that money back or not?
When you are in that frame of mind, all your mind sees are the problems. You are operating in fear zone. You cannot think clearly when your mind is filled with fear. When you are contemplating on whether to do something or not, the best thing is to go ahead and do it. That way you will know whether it works for you or not first hand. The worst thing is to conclude that it doesn’t work without even trying it. For example, if it is a product you wanted to buy, but not sure if it is for you, buy it and see if you get same results the creator of the product promises. If not, you ask for refund. Thank God many products are sold with money back guarantee. Marketing involves lot of testing. You need to test and see what works for you.
You are unique. Your background, experience and knowledge are unique. The way you think, solve problem and do things are unique. So, even though you are in the similar internet based business like thousand others do, your business is unique and you need to find out what works for you based on your knowledge, experience, strengths and weaknesses. When you are in testing mode, you are not operating in fear. You are in creative mode. You are determined to find out a way to succeed in your marketing efforts. You are determined to figure out what works for you. You can start filtering down the methods that don’t work and concentrate on the methods that do work. When you do find a marketing method that works, do more of it. Repeat it as often as you can. Tweak it and tune it to get better results.
It is worth while to mention that by default we tend to think negatively. No special effort is necessary for that. We have to make a conscious effort to think positive and be optimistic. Make a list of things to do and complete the tasks with laser focus. Everything else can wait until you finish the listed tasks you set out to do. Mean while, if a thought comes to your mind (they always do) about the other things that needs to be done, just jot it down on the paper and move on. That way you don’t forget about those things.
