Getting Paid for Doing Something You Love
Imagine what it will be like to get paid for sharing something you love.
A great example is Imari Harvard, creator of “Timeless Entertainment Concepts” who almost by accident, tapped into a timeless truth:
That nostalgia sells….
During an interview with Entrepreneur.com, Harvard tells reporter Robert Jones, that he and his wife “just wanted to put together an event where folks could come out for some nostalgic games, cocktails and conversation.”
Here’s how it happened:
Harvard and his wife arranged to have board games as the theme for their event. At the first event about 80 people show up to play the board games they enjoyed as children. The games included Twister, Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders and more. The following month there were 150 people who attended. Through this event, Play Date Atlanta was born. It wasn’t too long after that Harvard expanded his business to four additional cities using a licensing model and projected $250,000 in sales that year.
Just imagine, 800 well-dressed, middle-aged adults sipping cocktails, listening to music, and playing Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders or Twister.
I shared this story with my wife and she told me a similar story about our veterinarian:
On a recent visit with our dog, he had told her about the book on nutrition for dogs he had just written. He had taken something he is very successful at and absolutely loves, AND wrote this great book about something he is sincerely passionate about. To top it off, he is creating an Internet information publishing business in his spare time. And all he is doing is just by sharing something he is interested in. What a concept right?
Just imagine what it would be like to get paid for sharing something you love. Just imagine your possible business success.
Is there any reason why this couldn’t be you?
