Hitting The Bulls Eye With Your Golden Arrow

Read More: Personal Development

Today's topic is a little different and cannot only be applied to business and marketing, but also to life in general. Let's face it. We are all busy people living very busy lives. If we are not running around for ourselves, we are running around for other people and doing them favors. When it comes to doing things, time is very short and we often say 'if only we had more time' or 'if only there was more time' does that sound familiar to you? Despite all that though, just let everything go and take a deep breath.

Getting ready to hit the bulls eye

In both life and business their is one thing that the majority of people aim for. That is hitting the bulls eye with the golden arrow. Or in other words, it is the idea that 'if I can't do it perfectly, I am not going to bother to even attempting it'. For many this is the 'all or nothing' approach and it is an approach that just like anything else, has its own flaws. Have you ever been in a situation where you have thought to yourself 'if I cannot get this done perfectly then what is the point in even trying?' If you have not, that is great but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the vast majority.

Missing the bulls eye

Aiming high and looking to hit that bulls eye is a great thing and I applaud you for being ambitious and wanting to succeed to the highest level possible. However the truth is, the very simple truth is that you don't always have to hit that bulls eye to get what you want. You don't have to spend hours and hours on planning on how you are going to hit the bulls eye and from what angle in order to get what you want. You CAN get exactly what you want by throwing the arrow and getting it to the bulls eye as close as you can.

You can and will still get the things or the results you want by staying focused at least 90% of the time, and that means you don't have to hit that bulls eye. People aim for perfection all the time but then if after a short while they realise they cannot achieve it, they just quit, throwing all their hard effort and time spent down the drain. Where is that going to get you? Does that take you a step closer or a step further away from achieving whatever it is that you so desperately want to achieve? Taking this 'all or nothing' approach is not a good move to make as it can actually do you more harm than good.

If you aim just for that small amount of progress, you are much more likely to get it and when you do, that will motivate you even more to take action and get the kind of results that you want. Think of it this way. When you join all the pieces of a puzzle together, you will have the complete picture correct? Well if you add all your small progresses and achievements together you will ultimately see, and experience the bigger picture and that is when you realise you have achieved all the success and results you were after WITHOUT aiming for that perfect bulls eye shot! What you can aim for though, is to hit that Facebook share button or the Twitter re-tweet button if you found today's content helpful. ;-)
