How do I get past it fast? That question is asked everyday a person starts a new venture.  The newbie stage is basically that starting point that everyone has to experience. When something is new, it takes time to perfect your skills to the point where you experience success in whatever you are undertaking to do.  The great part about the newbie stage is that everyone goes through it.  Just as a baby has to scoot or crawl before they walk, so does everyone when learning and trying to develop new skills.

This article is going to give you some practical steps and tools to help you get past the newbie stage.  The first thing I want you to do is take a deep breath and exhale. Embrace the truth that every guru started where you are right now.  So it is okay to be in the newbie stage.

The mistake that many new marketers make is comparing themselves to people that have been doing this for a long time. When you do this, you feel really inadequate and defeated before you ever get started. A better idea is to learn from the experienced marketers and not compare yourself to them.  Taking one step at a time and not putting unrealistic expectations on yourself allows you to stay in the game until you get good at it. You have to have already made up your mind that you are in for the duration.

Being able to get past the newbie stage doesn’t have to take forever and you don’t want it to.

The sooner you can move the more quickly you can increase your value in the market place. That equates to making money. If your foundation is laid properly, building upon it will be less painful. In other words, if you start out with good information and form good habits you won’t have to take the time to dump bad stuff and break bad habits. By the way, I wish someone had told me this three years ago when I started online.

The most important thing is to get focused and don’t let anything or anyone distract you.  Then find a good system that provides thorough step by step and up-to-date training. Doing some research and reading some reviews will help with this. All systems are not newbie friendly. They are not designed to get you past the newbie stage. They are built for the more experienced marketer.

Finding a mentor is a good way to help you get past the newbie stage at a much faster rate than on your own.

Now, nobody is going to babysit you, but there are many marketers out there who would love to help newbies. It is how teams are built online. Keep in mind that they are busy and you will have to be coachable. Having someone facilitate the learning process is far more beneficial than someone holding you by your hand. This helps to keep you from being totally dependent on someone for your every move.  Making mistakes is part of the learning process, so don’t be afraid to try and fail at something.  It teaches you what not to do.
