How To Get MORE done, in LESS time. (For Free!)
Today I'm going to give you a strategy for killing off your nasty time wasting habits.
If you don't have those habits, then you're good. But for those who keep spinning their wheels, this one goes out to you.
So, you're super busy.
Getting anything done?
A little? Would you rather get a lot done?
Alright then, it all comes down to a plan.
You don't have to schedule and be like that teacher in high school with the pocket protector! But you do need to have a plan.
To me, a plan is a basic, structured outline of what needs to be done to accomplish your goals.
- A plan can be in your head sure, but the problem with that is that your brain works faster than a computer, thinking up new ideas, thoughts and other formulas - never letting you get things accomplished.
- A plan is best suited to be placed on computer, or at the very least in a word processor.
For the sake of ease, we're going to go through the steps on a WP.
First, create a .txt document. For windows, right click on your dektop, select 'new' then 'text document' in the submenu.
Next, write down every little step that you need to accomplish. If you need help coming up with the little things start with the big things.
ex:
I need to build my website.
okay, well, what goes into creating a website?
- Graphic Design
- Create The Layout
- Copywriting
- Inserting Widgets/Aps/Autoresponder
- Formulate and Create the final copy - upload to server
Now let's break these down into importance / most doable
- Create The Layout
- Copywriting
- Insert Widgets/Aps/Autoresponder
- Graphic Design
- Final Copy
Now we break down each section into subsections
- Create The Layout
a. Draw out a layout on paper
b. Use dreamweaver, or whatever editor you choose recreate the layout (or if you're lost, show your layout to freelancer to explain what you want) - Copywriting
a. Write up an outline
b. Draft a body-copy
c. test this on your friends/family - ask for their emotional/thought responses - Insert Widgets/Aps/Autoresponder
a. program your opt-in/autoresponder/shopping cart etc.
b. insert your opt-in/autoresponder/shopping cart etc. - Graphic Design
a. make a rough sketch of all your graphics/arrows/etc.
b. create the most important images
c. create supplemental images/arrows/etc.
d. revise if needed test with friends/family/etc. - Final Copy
a. Put everything together, as sketched in initial outline
b. Make Revisions
c. Upload & Start Split Testing
Once you break everything down into these small step by step subsections, you have, in order that which you need to accomplish. This takes your task, turns it into baby steps and makes it much easier to conquer. Keep in mind, you can do this with ANY task, and if you do it with EVERY task, things start happening and moving a LOT faster.
Now that you have your todo list in your document, click save as.
Save your document as "Todo.html"
Now in your web browser, set your homepage to "Yourlocation/todo.html'
Now every time you open your browser, you will see your todo list. For me, this prompts less time wasting, and more productivity.
Hope this helps everyone, I look forward to your comments. =) Shane Hunter Nuriche Pioneer
