How To Make 2010 A Great Year
How to make 2010 a great year. Where are already a few days into 2010 and many people have said to me that 2010 is NOW a great year. Yes it is a Great Year and we can make it that way by Being Grateful for all the things we have, doesn’t matter how little or big they are.
Tips that have been shared with me:
1. Gratitude - Every night write down at least 5 things you are grateful for. ( you can also do this with your family and your spouse) As you write what you are grateful for be sure to say that I Am Now Grateful for .. the words I Am and Now are very powerful. (for eg if you want to another car be grateful for the one you already have so you can attract a better one into your life)
2. Be thankful for all good things that happen to you, doesn’t matter how small or insignificant they might be, the more you are a thankful and grateful for even the small things in your life you will find many more good things happening.
3. Don’t dwell on the Negative what you Don’t have – but be thankful and grateful for what you do have. Eg loving family, great health, a great skill or talent, or wonderful personality.
4. Honour and Appreciate Yourself, love who you are, love all aspects about yourself doesn’t matter how ugly you may think something is. Love it and see the good aspect of it. If you are overweight, don’t dwell on the negative side, but think that you have the perfect body and love your body. For me I have people telling me I am so skinny, that I have lost so much weight. I need to put weight on. They go on and on about it. It also very annoying and depressing when they do this. I have now started to say I have the perfect body for me, and I have even started telling people I am Good I am Great. This happened quite by accident just before New Year. When someone commented on my weight I suddenly replied I am good, I am great. The surprising thing it stopped the objection that was about to come from one of the people who is always going on about my weight. So Now I say when someone starts to comment on my weight I say yes and I am good I am great. This gives me a feeling of empowerment and it makes me feel good about myself instead of feeling negative.
5. Expect a Miracle - Live in the expectation of a Miracle happening doesn’t matter how small it is give thanks for it.
6. Be Grateful for Disasters they can be the best thing that can happen to us
Even disasters we can be grateful for. I read these New Year holidays that for this person some of their disasters were the best things that happen to them, and what they thought were blessings turned out not so good for them.
Be grateful for disasters because through disasters some of the best things can come to us that wouldn’t have had an opportunity to do so if the disaster hadn’t happen to us. Same thing can come from a blessing as well, what we thought was a blessing may turn out to be a nightmare for us.
However if we are grateful for the lessons these things bring to us, we can always find some positive aspect to focus on. Doesn’t matter how tiny this is the more we focus on that tiny positive thought the larger it gets.
We have the freedom and the power of free will or free choice. We can decide to be a Victim in the face of a disaster or a blessing. Or we can choose to be a Victor in the face of a disaster or blessing. and look for all the positive aspects and focus on those positive thoughts and aspects. Once you find one tiny positive aspect and you focus on it, other ideas and positive thoughts start to come to you, and soon you see a solution developing.
I found myself in the last several weeks of 2009 in a procrastination state, I couldn’t seem to find my way out of the stagnation and procrastination period I was in. I felt frustrated.
One day I was telling my friend that I had to find that fire in my belly again. As I was telling her this, I saw a picture a vision, of hundreds of threads all tangled together in a big ball. They were going in every direction, but in the very middle I saw a small light as big as a nail head. It was blinking away and I knew there was my passion my focus.
My job was to find the thread that lead to that light and run with it. Since I saw that many things have started to open up for me. I have come across many positive articles, books, inspiring sites, thoughts that are leading me closer and closer to that light.
I stumbled across through an article ‘Expect a Miracle.’ I had first seen this on my chiropractor laptop, but never really asked where they got it from. I did understand the power of those few words. I eventually ended up on the site and saw that I could also print out “Expect a Miracle” card. Every day I say that and its one of the last things I say before going to sleep. I have taped the card to my laptop so I see it every time I sit at my laptop, and also on my dairy. These a just a couple of places of taped “Expect a Miracle.”
These New Year holidays I have done a lot of reflection and looked within to find out what I want. I have read from many of the successful people saying the same thing. Take these holidays to reflect on your achievements, your goals, ambitions, your passions. Start believing in who you are, and your dreams, embrace each obstacle with gratitude and love, and know that with each obstacle you encounter and conquer you are one step closer to your dream.
