Journey to Black Belt (til death do us part)
Many times in life and business I see so many people give up. They give up and quit on their dream, their spouse their family. I know this may ruffle some feathers but I am not afraid to speak the truth and maybe this is on my heart because someone reading this needs to hear it. Many people choose to take the easy way out or what they think is the easy way and it does not just effect them.
What do I mean by that? Think about this, as a productive member of society we all have a responsibility. That responsibility may be to our family, friends, co-workers, clients, employees and anyone else you come in contact with during your day. If you choose to quit on a relationship, job, a commitment that you personally made what does that say about you and others around you. Maybe you are that one person that can make a huge difference and change the course of not only your life but those around you.
Here is an example, as you may know my kids, actually my whole family is involved with Martial Arts. My two oldest started about 3 1/2 years ago and about a year later my wife and I started. I had decided I was too busy for the group classes and only did private lessons. The challenge was after about a year I was not being as consistent with the lessons and practice. Lets face reality I am blessed with 3 kids a beautiful wife and having my own business so there is never enough time (this was me justifying:).
Two things happened, one was my son noticed and said daddy are you quitting? Well that is a word that is not allowed in out home and equal to a curse word. Then the second was I had a belt test and realized when we were doing certain things with partners I did not have the skills of working with different size people. That test was on a Saturday, on Monday I was in the group class from then on. Is it easy, no way but going back to what I said earlier, how do your decisions effect others. My kids were watching and if I quit I set the example for them for the rest of their lives that they do not have to follow through with something they started. Now I am not saying things do not happen but I see so many people just quit because they take the easy road.
If your looking for the easy button go to Staples and get one but that is not going to solve your issues. It is going to take work and consistent daily action to get the results you want for your life. As I prepare to test this weekend for my next belt level in my journey to black belt I know going in it is not going to be easy but it will push me to a new level I have not been to before.
You make be thinking what the heck does this have to do with internet marketing and business? It has everything to do with it because if you quit on the little things what will you do when you face the bigger challenges. There will always be challenges its how you deal with them that will make the long term difference. Look at any of the success stories out there from the KFC’s, McDonalds, Wendy’s, TGIF, Starbucks to the Walmart’s, Target’s, Microsoft, Dell and countless others. They all have one thing in common the person that had the vision for it DID NOT QUIT?
For some there may be something you quit on that you regret, a relationship, faith or business, the past is the past move forward and make the decision today that you will not quit on you from this day forward, you will not only stand firm in your commitments but also encourage others to do the same.
I wish you the best,
