Do You Struggle With Self-Promotion?

Read More: Law of Attraction

There are certain things in life that must do in order to fulfill your dreams but you may find hard to do because they go against your natural inclinations or teachings.

One of them is self-promotion. You may have been taught that promoting yourself is wrong or does not represent a humble or meek spirit. Nothing can be further from the truth.

In order to succeed in life you have to be willing to learn to "toot your own horn" and let others know what your do and how well you do it. This is not to be confused with being boastful or braggadocios. Neither of which are attractive personality traits because they border on rude, distasteful are done to the extreme.

There is nothing wrong with promoting yourself or what you do. Resenting self-promotion or being afraid to promote yourself, especially if you are in marketing and/or sales, can be self defeating. It's going to be a huge obstacle to your success if you think negatively about selling and promotion. The trick is to make sure you are promoting yourself when it's appropriate. You don't just walk up to people and interject yourself in a conversation and immediately start talking about who you are what you do. That goes against everything that Attraction Marketing is.

If you are in marketing and/or sales, you'll need to know how to brand yourself and sell others on who you are. There are some people who are very good at this and I know that you'll easily recognize their names; Donald Trump, Dieon Sanders and Martha Stewart have all successfully branded themselves in business, sports and in home domestications. Three different fields but you know their names because they have tied their names to their work and have no qualms about letting us know they are the best at what they do and they all offer high value as well as quality goods. Now I do admit, "The Donald" is kinda out there but you get my drift: be bold.

So don't be afraid to talk about your business, hand out business cards, share your knowledge, offer value and wisdom...it's your job to share what you do. If you're shy and haven't quite built up your confidence, there's always another solution. Wear a nametag or even company sponsored gear that can generate questions. Some people don't like car magnets but I've gotten paid customers and people in my business with car magnets and name tags. I wear a name tag regularly when I'm out and about. There are lots of websites you can go to and order some very nice name tags that can reflect your personality and fit your business. (I have a bling name tag and ordered it here.)

But here's the caveat...you've got to do what you do with a spirit of excellence and you need to really work on building a reputation of credibility. Be prompt, honest, responsive, trustworthy, be all of the things you would want in someone else and continue to build your character.

If you're going to put yourself out there, you had better make sure you're someone who's worth doing business with.

Peace and Abundance!
