MLM Truth Regarding The Law Of Association That Affects Leadership
A basic mlm truth is that you will be like the five people who you spend the most time with. You may think you are strong enough to tune out the naysayers but the germs spread to you just like a cold does.
Jeff Olson in his book called the Slight Edge expands it in more detail. You will become just like the five people who you spend the most time with. It does not matter if you consider them a friend or not. At first you are going to hate their negativity and you want to get away from them. But over time you get used to them and finally embrace them and then you become negative yourself.
Here is how you select the amount of time you spend with someone. There are people whom you spend two hours with whom are worth only two minutes. Also there are people who you spend five minutes with who are worth to spend five hours with. You choose. Ask yourself if those people are going in the same direction as you are? If not then limit your time around them or even better get rid of them totally.
Their lives are miserable and misery does love company. Here is the best definition that my good friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy has written in his e-book:
"Your best option is to get rid of them. Next best is to have an AMAZING “WHY”,a 99.9% “WHY”, that will keep you going through rain, sleet, snow, flood, pestilence, nuclear holocaust, or the criticism of a “loved” one." Excerpt From Success In Ten Steps
When you get plugged into a mastermind group of millionaires here is what will happen. The negativity that got you screwed up for the past x number of years will disappear. You will learn from experts who have been taunted by the people close to them and how they focused on become a huge success. Now lets turn our attention to being trainable once you have gotten to know, like and trust your mentors.
There was a guy called Denson Taylor who became a millionaire in three years of network marketing. He had to listen to the cassette tapes and give his presentation exactly the way his mentor did it. What worked then does not duplicate today but the point is that the rule of coachable did not change.
Once you get the results you must avoid managing your downline because if they fail they will blame you. You do not want to have 25 people know make up stories about you.

It does not matter how good your mentor is even if he is a network marketing millionaire, the student has to outgrow the teacher. You must have flexible planning and be willing to test things out and get rid of what does not bring results for you.
