A Simple Law Of Physics
A Simple Law Of Physics
Don’t worry, I’m not going to be diving into the deep end of Physics today, or any day for that matter...
I’m going to keep our Physics lesson super simple, it’s this: No two things can occupy the same space at the same time.
Now, let’s take this a step further... No two thoughts can occupy the same mind at the same time.
So my question to you is, what thoughts are dominating your life?
When I look back at any time in my life when I felt stuck, I can see the truth and power of this Law. I had the wrong thoughts occupying my mind. I had doubt, frustration and uncertainty.
It wasn’t until I caught myself in this pattern, usually with the help of someone close to me, that I could correct it.
The point is, I had to change my thoughts. I couldn’t just add a few good ones to my pile of stinky ones. So, how do you do that?
This is the part where effort and awareness are required... This is where the work comes in.
When you find yourself in a challenging situation, remind yourself of what you are thankful for.
Keep in mind, this will be the last thing you’ll want to do... It will be a whole lot easier to complain and carry on about everything that’s going wrong and why.
Remember that no matter how bleak one moment feels, we always have something to be thankful for.
Another thing to keep in mind is that we are creatures of habit...
And most of the time, we are completely unaware of our habits-good or bad.
The good news is we can change them -- even create new ones if we want to.
As Vince Poscente says, “The chain of negativity is a pattern."
Have you noticed how one negative thought leads to another and another? These thoughts erode confidence and sap our strength.
So, the sooner we recognize these patterns, the sooner we can cut them off.
The more we interrupt a specific thought, the less power it will have over us. Do this consistently over time and you will have created a new empowering thought pattern that will change the landscape of your mind and world.
Why does it seem that so many people take one step forward and three steps back?
I believe it’s because their conscious and subconscious thoughts are not aligned.
I know that’s a deep concept, but it really just comes down to -- they aren’t spiritually and emotionally connected to what they do.
I’ve heard it said many times, "Do what you love and the money will follow." Make sure the goals and dreams you are working for are actually important to you. Make sure your work is aligned with your belief system and you will be taking big steps forward.
Here are the three ways I have found to keep my mind focused on the thoughts that will serve me most:
- Express GRATITUDE daily.
- Learn to RECOGNIZE negative patterns in yourself and others, in order to interrupt them early.
- Create goals in your life and business that have deep meaning to YOU.
This is what I believe.
This is what I teach.

More Physics Please
Hey Monique,
Great article. I like the concepts here a lot. It falls in line with a lot of the material I teach myself.
Success starts with mindset. It takes an unwavering determination to succeed to change the bad thinking habits. But with all that I have seen and been through in my life, I have found one simple truth.
You'll never take action on something that you don't believe is possible. If it feels too far off, you'll bask in the light of the dream, and live in the misery of the moment. If you tell your mind it can do these things, it will act accordingly.
It ALL Starts In The Mind
Hi Chris,
You are absolutely right. It takes commitment to change the content of our minds in order to see new manifestations in our lives.
Thanks for stopping by and for always teaching the thing that matters most-mindset for success!
