Effectively NetWORKing Tip #3:

  • "Make It Easy For People to Talk About a Favorite Subject ~ THEMSELVES!"

You can change your entire world by simply showing genuine interest in other people. You should never run out of things to talk about if you will simply remember that the other person has some genuine value to offer. The truth is, you can effectively establish rapport with another person over the long run by demonstrating that you actually care. 

Here's a valuable maxim that's worth committing to memory: "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."

Have you ever had the experience of communicating with someone and all they wanted to do was brag about how good they were, or how things in their life were so crappy, or... you get the picture. I don't know about you, but more times than not, when I run into someone like this, I tend to zone out or look for a tactful escape route! So, with that said, keep the focus on the other person and not yourself.

In the next effectively netWORKing tip, I will share with you how to turn this knowledge into action steps which will help you to reach the the higher levels as you enhance your networking skills. But for now, I hope you remember that most people LOVE to talk about themselves.
