Who do you know, or who knows you?
Through my years of doing network marketing, I have heard the tradiitonal method of recruiting where the sponsor tells the new enrollee,"make a list of 100 people who you know". Lasting success occurs when you change the question-"who do you know?" to "who knows you?"
People who know you are people who respect you. People who have taken notice of your impact in the community and will give ear to what you say. If you are reading this and thinking,"I don't have that kind of respect"- then you need to make some adjustments in your thinking.
The last 11 people I have enrolled were people I never initiated any conversations with. They came to me...not the other way around.
You need to see that no matter how good your companies product is, it's not your product. YOU are your product. Poeple come to me because I am careful about how I present myself. I give advice instead of asking for a sign up. I give free tools to help people whether or not I work with them. I build others up in the vision instead of trying to get their attention.
Doing this GETS ATTENTION. Poeple are used to hype and agendas. Be confident and through your conversations, materials, blogs, and websites- continue to send the message ,"I can take you where you want to go- I can lead you" When you establish that message, your prospecting sorrows are over.
You will succeed when people KNOW YOU.
