Choosing Success Over Failure
Do you ever find yourself frustrated beyond words? Fedup with it all, Disappointed in the results, Disillusioned or Disheartened that you are not achieving the success you desire?
Have you ever felt like you’re ready give up on your dream of starting and building a business of your own? That your dream of financial security for you and your family is long gone?
Don’t worry. You’re not the only one that has felt this way. In fact, most successful people do. And even more important, is that having these feelings is actually a REALLY good sign.
How you deal with these thoughts and emotions is the key to your success and actually helps weed out the truly success-bound entrepreneurs from the wanna-be’s. It is what I call the ‘refiners fire of success’.
“The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you’re about to succeed.” ~Chinese Proverb
This is one profound truth that can help you never be tempted to choose failure over success again. I assure you that if you can keep this quote in mind when you are frustrated or struggling, then it is guaranteed to pull you through to the success you desire.
Other quotes that are similar include, “It’s always darkest just before the dawn.” Or as my friend Bob Parsons, founder of Godaddy, paraphrases it, “When you’re ready to quit, you’re closer than you think.”
If one of these quotes resonates with you, and you can keep this one simple truth in mind, you’ll never be truly tempted to quit.
Here are some tips to keep in mind for those times you need a boost or motivation to continue on and achieve the success you desire. Any and all them work so give them a try:
- First, take the quote that resonates with you most from above and save it as your computer screen saver
- Write the quote on a “Post-it-Note” and place it on your computer screen or keyboard
- Write as a note on your calendar in today’s date
- Write it on a 3×5 card and tape it to the wall above your office light switch
- Write it along the top of the white board in your office
- Tape it to the sun visor in your car
No, it’s not magic but it is a simple truth we all tend to forget when we are in the midst of a struggle. Having the quote written and posted in places where you can see, just helps remind you when you need it the most.
Finding ways to move past the struggle, breakthrough the trial and remain focused on the prize is what will make you successful and set you apart from the rest.
