Leadership has a lot to do with who you are than what you do.

As Goethe once wrote, “Before you can do something, you must be something”.

It is not possible for you to be the inspirational leader that you desire to be if you are depressed and miserable. How can you inspire you team to excellence if you are not motivated? You need to feel victorious in order to lead your team to victory.

As a leader, you will always lead by example, whether you like or not.

Success begins within you. It starts by collecting yourself together. Once you do this, your world will be pretty fine.

You view the world as you are, not as it is. You are bound to see the world from a more edified perspective when you choose to improve, refine and define who you are.

You begin leading other when you start to lead yourself. Continuous growth involves continuous self development in the path in which you want to be as a human being.

Self consciousness avails to you the tools to achieve your goals in your home, work place and community.

Just stop racing if your ultimate destination is not very clear lest you run in the wrong way. Taking time to reflect and review allows you to do analysis of what you are doing and how to make continuous improvement to yourself.

You can start the journey to personal growth by committing at least a half an hour everyday to reading inspirational books. Knowledge creates a great pathway to self sentience. There are many shapes and styles of reading. You can decide to read a book, listen to an mp3 audio book, read an e-book or attend a seminar. You will certainly enrich your mind.

There is a solution within you to fix a problem you want solved and new knowledge will definitely empower you to de exactly that. The decisions you make because of the knowledge that you acquire today will determine the kind of a person you will become in five years time.

Leaders are life long learners. Learning does not end with the last exam. It must continue as long as you are alive.

You should learn to lead yourself before seeking to lead others. Self consciousness, reflection and review have been proven to be definite ways of acquiring self knowledge and consequently becoming a role model and a mentor to your team members because they expect you to be at your best all the time.
