"Mike Dillard Is Dead": 1975 - 2009

I know.  Believe me, I was just as shocked as you.

Especially when I heard it at 10:38 AM this morning in concert with the thing I hate almost more than anything in this world.

(Oh, and in answer to all the calls and emails I’ve been flooded with in the last 48 hours, Yes, “The 38 Laws Of 1% Network Marketing”, the new project I just spent the last 2+ years of my life completing, is available online for free as an eBook until it’s officially released in paperback here very shortly.

Anyone , especially my BN Family, can go download it right now along with my interview by Brian Tracy at www.MLMLoserVooDoo.com Thanks for all the great testimonials and words of  thanks I’ve received from those who got their hands on the advance copy.)

Anyway, as I flew along the freshly constructed bike trail this morning that conveniently runs right through the neighborhood my new home resides in, the horrible event happened.

The wonderful smell of the earlier morning rain was still wafting in the air and the cool breeze blew along my face as I sped past a 100 yard stretch of the most beautiful peonies you’ve ever laid eyes on.  They lined both sides of the trail along with gorgeous green landscaping of all varieties.

I became aware of the soothing rustle of the trees and the crystal clear air underneath the cascading melodies of “A Flower Called Nowhere” by Stereolab, which played softly through my wireless headphones.

I was surrounded by breathtaking beauty, and experienced one of those awesome moments where I felt the presence of God and nature all around me.

 It was stunning.

“This is what health, wealth, happiness, and life are all about!  This is The Luxe Life!”  I said out loud, laughing to no one in particular.

Then it happened.  The interloper appeared…  My f@%$n cell phone rang.

The Serpent Appears

It rang right through my damn wireless headphones too, since they were being fed my “riding songs” playlist from my trustyAT&T Tilt.

Now normally I wouldn’t even answer the damn thing, but it so ruined my idyllic moment there was no going back, so I figured I may as well pick it up and see how I could turn this egregious intrusion into something positive.

Bad move.

It was a “friend” and fellow network marketer I’ve known for a long time.  Now honestly, I usually don’t take this cat’s calls because… well you probably know the type.

He’s one of those guys who’s always complimenting me on and marveling over my successes (though he wasn’t so supportive when I was struggling and sleeping on a friend’s couch in the beginning) and asking me for advice on getting his own networking business popping, but then when I do take the time to give him a suggestion or two, he’s telling me why he doesn’t think it’ll work and continuing to struggle along the same way he always has been.

You know one of those people with all the answers and none of the cash too show for it?

I hadn’t talked to this guy in 6 or 7 months, and the annoying S.O.B.’s first words to me were;

“Hey man, yesterday, I checked out that guy’s book you told me about a while ago, uh, what’s his name, Mike Dillard?”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, ha, ha, man please!  That cat is old dawg!  That attraction crap he’s talking about isn’t gonna work anymore!  Everybody’s doing it now.

Everybody knows now when your giving away a free report your just trying to get that person to join your MLM downline.  What dumbass is still gonna fall for that?!  Ha, ha, get the f@%& outta here!  Mike Dillard is Dead!”

Now, I know what you’re thinking.  But no, in spite of the “BadBoy” side of my personality’s love of sarcasm and complete distaste for losers, I didn’t check him or school him.  I suppose my communion with the purity of Nature at the time saved this cat’s self esteem from some expensive trips to a therapist for repair.

Anyway, trust me, like with all losers, with this guy it would have been a waste of my fairly valuable time.

But, Is Mike Really Dead?

But… I got to thinking to myself after I all but hung up on him, “You know, the guy kinda has a point.”

Because, a great deal of people have drastically misunderstood and, consequently, have bastardized Mike’s true message in his groundbreaking “Magnetic Sponsoring” course and all of his courses that came after it.

See, if you truly paid attention, at its core, Magnetic Sponsoring is not really something you do, it is a philosophy.  A mindset.

It’s a business philosophy about, to paraphrase Mike’s words, “…giving value first and freely without want or expectation of getting anything in return.”

And this is where a bunch of people get it all wrong.

They think it’s just another hustle clothed in noble language.  They’re trying to give out lazy, redundant, often counterfeit “value” for the sole purpose of getting something in return.  It’s exactly the opposite of Mike’s philosophy.

Magnetic Sponsoring’s not about luring or tricking other networkers into your web and then bait and switching, or “flipping” them out of their own business opportunity and into yours so you can get paid.

Read through Mike’s body of work carefully and you’ll see he recommends a very specific and different strategy when you are intentionally looking to generate leads and new distributors for your home business.

Those of us who get the spirit of mike’s MS philosophy, many of whom regularly participate in this community, understand that if you give real value without want, you’ll attract the right people into your circle, where you will all eventually benefit in whatever ways the relationships lead to.

It doesn’t mean either of you has to join the other’s downline to reap rewards.  There are plenty of winners out there looking to join leaders.  To feel you have to “recruit” everybody out of their company and into yours is actually a symptom of a wicked case of  Scarcity Mindset.

And there’s no faster way to magnetize yourself with what I call “Losers Polarity,” the magnetic force that I bet you can guess what it attracts.  Then people wonder why they keep getting bums on their team and puny checks.

Here’s a sobering truth peeps:  Your Check is Who You Are.

Look, I’ve come across many a person hating on Mike, which, with extraordinary achievement, I’ve found is normal.

They often question why, with the personal success I’ve had, do I continue to give him so much credit and props.  My take is:  “How’s it diminish my shine one bit?”  A candle loses none of its own flame by lighting another candle.

I still give him mad props because he deserves it, and I owe a great deal of my success to him opening up Oz’s curtain and letting me look behind it.

I’m not too proud to admit that his example of relentless giving inspired me to give away for free “The 38 Laws Of 1% Network Marketing” (at least to the first 10,000 people to get to the download page), a book I originally intended for conventional release.

You can still download a copy at this point if you want over at www.MLMLoserVooDoo.com, they were about half gone last time I checked.

I’d recommend grabbing a copy.  With the wisdom of all the heavy hitters it’s content was compiled from, I’m pretty sure you’ll get at least one nugget out of it you can use towards your business advancement. (And yes, my publishing partners are a bit mystified by and nervous about this “free giveaway thing,” but hey, I gotta do me.)

So, yeah, I guess in a way Mike Dillard is dead, for the people whose reality paints everything as just another “hustle” to try take from others.

To them I say, let him rest in peace.  Move on to gold speculating or Forex trading and poison somebody else’s well.

As for me, all I can say is… One Love,”  Mike.

I appreciate the hell outta ya brotha.

P.S.:  Oh yeah, and please, don’t nobody call me with no b@%$#t between 9:30 and 11:00am, OK?

My pleasure Mike, MS Testimonial Coming Soon!

Hey, my pleasure Mike, you know I meant every word!

One of the characteristics I most admired about you from the very beginning was your courage to tell the truth about how the inner game (from the MLM Companies outward) of network marketing is really played.

Your courage inspired me to publically share some of the counter-consensus strategy and philosophy that I developed and finally found significant success with, which ultimately led to MLM Loser VooDoo. Can't thank you enough Bro.

BTW, My looooong overdue MS/ Traffic Formula testimonial is coming your way soon. But it's so strange and mysterious I think you might find it worth the delay!

Peace,

Harkon
