No matter where we are in life, each of us has the power of influence - the power of leadership. The challenge lies in discovering our inner leader and determining how we can, and should lead. Most of us think of leaders are a rare breed. You know, the guys that have already hit the top of the comp plan in their company, have won all the trips, speak at all the events, and have a mammoth sponsor tree in their back office. The truth is, everyone can be a leader if they just learn how to lead.

The following strategies can help you transform into the leader that you always knew you could be.
Be confident in your mission
Whether you're brand spanking new to your organization or have been struggling for months, or even years, you can immediately change your posture by becoming thoroughly educated about your product or service and how it has helped change people's lives for the better. Ask questions to your teammates and upline. Pick their brains! Listen to and learn the stories of your company's customers and distributors. Practice sharing these stories until you know them inside and out. I've noticed that the most successful promoters or distributors are the best at sharing their own stories and the stories that they've heard from other people involved within their company. Lastly remember to steer away from facts and figures, and focus on stories.
Serve another person or a group of people
Interact with other people and find ways that you can help them with their problems. Marketing is not about selling. I've learned this the hard way. It's about helping people solve their problems. Whether you decide to help someone on your team, a prospect, a customer, or someone that has nothing to do with your business, taking on a helping role encourages leadership because ultimately, a good leader supports his or her followers.
Always recognize that success is a team effort
Leaders always know that success only comes from teamwork. Certain people may play crucial roles, however one person doesn't make a team. No matter how good a leader may be, he or she's success comes down to team effort. As your team grows, be sure to let them know that you're always there to help support them.
Be flexible to change
Not only should you react to change, but anticipate that change is inevitable. This anticipation will keep you out of your comfort zone. I'm not saying to be neurotic, but always be prepared for unexpected events and keep an eye out on how you can improve your business. We live in a world that is constantly changing. For example, at the No Excuses Summit this year, I learned that the leaders in our industry are implementing Mobile Apps into their businesses!
