Network Marketing Leaders—Are you the Lone Ranger or the Brady Bunch?

Read More: Leadership

I grew up watching a TV show called The Lone Ranger. The Lone Ranger was a masked Texas ranger in the American Ol d West. He galloped around fighting injustice with his Indian friend, Tonto.  Each episode he'd shout the famous words  from his horse,

"Hi-yo, Silver, Away!” and ride off in the setting sun.

Then there was The Brady Bunch. This iconic TV show in the 1960’s was about a single dad with three boys marrying a single mom with three girls. Over the years this large blended family became an illustration of a group  that is totally connected to one another. Because of their mutual respect for one another, they became a strong team.

Remember, how the talented Brady kids could even become a teenage rock band when the script called for it?

Are you a Lone Ranger? Do you prefer figuring things out for yourself because that’s your personality style? There are certainly times to be a Lone Ranger. Times to hold fast to your vision and purpose, despite those around you who think you’re crazy.

Hi-yo, Silver, Away!

OR are you more like The Brady Bunch? Do you prefer to be part of a Team with different personalities and backgrounds, yet joined together for a common cause?  One of the most powerful Teams I’m part of is Mentoring For Free. Together we help one another succeed in network marketing.

There are certainly times to have the mind-set of both of these TV programs. However, in the long run, I prefer being part of The Brady Bunch—especially when we mutually share a powerful vision of creating a legacy for our families.

Doesn’t matter if we’re Greg, Peter, Bobby, or Marcia, Jan, or Cindy.

We work together as a Team.

Just don’t ask us to be a rock band.

To your success,

Margi Starr

Great Insight Margi

Hey Margi

Great post and very true down to the core. We all have to be interdependent of one another. We were created as social beings and once we begin to connect with one another the possibilities are endless. We create that synergy!!!

Great Analogy !

You went way back, but your point is crystal clear. You're in business for yourself, but not by yourself. Everyone knows that to be successful in this industry, you can NOT do it by yourself! That's the beauty of network marketing (meeting different people with the same/similar goals working together to achieve more). Thanks for sharing.

Thanks For The Trip Down Memory Lane !

I was a real big fan of the Brady Bunch,
Gosh that was one of my Favorite shows off all time.
I much prefer to work with a group of like minded people
because I feel that you just get so much more out of whatever you are doing. Working with a group is definitely my choice !

Two of My Favorite TV Shows!

Margi,
I always appreciate how you come up with such great analogies to illustrate your points. They just help me see things so much more clearly. I am also very grateful to be on your team. You have helped me so much!

P.S. Chinna - Watch those "way back" comments! It wasn't soo far back!!! :) [<3 you!]

Hey Margi

I love your illustrations. "You know how everyone knows you can make money on-line. But there is a catch, you need a coach and a team." You say it so well, and you are a great mentor.

Thanks,

P.S. Personally, I'm a Roy Rogers - Dale Evans kind of Gal :)

Love it!

Margi-

What a great analogy!

I definitely think I started off as the Lone Ranger- but Masterminds are just so darn valuable that I'm definitely preferring the Brady Bunch! :)

Well Said Margi!!!

We must be act like the Brady Bunch to have prospects to be drawn to us!! I remember the Brady Bunch song "There Is A Story about a lady..."

We need to also have invisible councelors from the past who helped us be successful. I have my former little league baseball coaches, my teammates and other former athletes as my invisible counselors to assist me when I need to make decisions.

Nice Article Margi!

Yeah, I remember watching those programs too. Good comparisons for us marketers to consider, and explained well enough for younger people who've never watched those programs. Certainly, there's a time to work alone and a time to team up. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

Excellent Analogy Margi!

I couldn't have said it better. Great article. I think most of us have to start out as Lone Rangers, especially if we're transitioning from employee to entrepreneur while we search for a team to belong to that we fit well in.

Away with Long John Sylver

Wow, what a great article on masterminding with other marketers. In a recent article I read, about "energy", 2 batteries are better then 1, 3 batteries are better than 2 and so on. What a great article with great picture words and you definitely are very talented and creative, Margie. Great Value. Thank you

Am I the Lone Ranger?

Hey Margi!
Your simile is a real sample of good work with fellow networkers :)
But I don't think there are only two kinds of people...
You know I like Brady Bunch, I don't mind to join even bigger bunches, but there are many situations that I might be some other person than Ranger or Bunch...
The only thing I can tell definitely: I am not the Lone Ranger.
Thank you very much

Glad to hear this :-)

I guess I belong to The

I guess I belong to The Brady Bunch team. I don't like being alone and besides more minds is better than 1. -GAR Labs
