WARNING: Newbie ALERT....
Believe me when I tell you that I want to learn as fast as I can, get all my systems up and running, start "Moving Traffic", become a social freakin butterfly, paint pictures with words like a master copy write, dominate SEO, shoot videos like Opie, Flat out Jack Slap Google right back in their big round double OO and get some money coming in just as fast as the next guy, but just hang on a New York minute....
Gang, I don't want to burst your bubbles, but one thing at a time here...
Now you see, I came into this on-line gig a few months back with my eyes wide open and my credit cards zeroed out.
As a hard working, small business owning carpenter/contractor I know what it means to have the proper tools for the job, and I understand that there are many specialty tools for every task you may run into, but lets talk this over for a minute...
The name of the game is money, Right?
Oh yeah, I know, I've heard the talk.
You want to help your fellow man and give back to the community and feed the hungry in Africa and clothe the naked babies in South America and put up solar panels for villages where they can't pump water because their oxen died of carbon dioxide poisoning---and you found a mission where sister Johannis needs help teaching orphans how to read and sew buttons on the---what ever....That'll all be fine and dandy once I can pay my own frickin electric bill and put some noodles on my own table.
Listen, all I'm trying to say here is this.
I've only been around here for a little while and I noticed a very disturbing trend...
There is no denying that every time someone starts moving 'UN-Godly' amounts of traffic to there site, and every time someone goes to another seminar or poops out a different color turd, it's time to package it up and market it to all us new clowns...
I know, This is the American way... it's free trade and pure capitalism at its' finest...
If Baskin Robins only has 32 flavors than I'll be flip ginggled if I won't combine chocolate fudge brownie with strawberry swirl and call it chocastrawswirl and market it right across the street from a beer cooler out of the bed of my pick-up...
There's nothing wrong with the products, it's simply the way we're all tryin to move 'em.
You see, my "sponsor" saw me coming a mile away. He said, "Mitchell, if you want to jump into this full time you'll need to get set up with this, and this, you'll need some of these, you've got to have this, and, oh yeah, you'll need...Don't worry", he said, "you don't have to know how to use all this yet, you'll learn as you go, and besides, you'll be making money off these things as an affiliate and they'll pay for themselves."
Well come on folks, you know what this perpetuates, right? Now, I'm going to feel inclined to grab the next sap that comes along and start feeding him that same line of scrap that I was so gamefully fed....This just isn't right, and it doesn't do any of us any good.
We all know that this business takes time to set up. And that for someone like myself, who didn't even own a computer until April of this year (yeah, I got my very first computer after I laid my hammer down in April 2009) it's going to take some serious effort and a mindset of a Giant, a true Champion of Life and a Commitment the likes of which only Columbus or Lewis and Clark possessed.
The facts are, this is not rocket science, and yes, anyone, from any background with very little education, can do this...And, yes, there are always going to be those people out there that are going to take advantage of others to benefit themselves...
But before you start cramming your new team member full of stuff that they might be better off waiting til they're ready for just think back to when you were getting started and remember how easy it is to just let time take its' course. You'll make your little commission check and in the end your team mate will be your friend and friendship lasts a lot longer than money...
Gang, I'm set up over at http://mitchelldillman.com/partner-with-mitchell/ and if you'd like to stop by and say hello, I'd love to hear from you...I'm just learning all this stuff and I'm not going to try and sell you anything other than a great buy in on a oil well lease down NO, JUST Kidding...Seriously, Come on over and say hi... We'll chat.

I hear ya Mitchell
Mitchell you're gonna make
some heads roll on the way
to the top.
They won't even see you coming.
Don't be surprised if this article
makes its way into the Best of Better
Networker e-mails. It stands out as
one of the best I've read all week. :-)
Keep rocking it up Mitchell.
This fast paced, bing-a-bang, 'million dollar a day', business
Thanks Jason,
for your flattering remarks and your continued support...I need to ask you a personal question.
How long have you been involved in this fast paced, action packed, bing-a-bang, 'million dollar a day' business of Internet Marketing?
Does your mind ever still feel like a wringing wet, sloppy old sponge, full of the barrage of 'value packed' content that's simply selling you on the next best 'cutting edge' tool designed to Drive MASSIVE amounts of traffic back to your blog....Which, by the way, has been a pure gurgling spring of valuable information that just continues flowing forth for me and so many others!
How long had you been "getting after-it" before you could see through all the relentless piles of hype that just never seems to end?
I've already considered my first product, a great BIG ol' ebook..."HOW An Old, Worn Out, Down on His Luck, Construction Worker Learned the Ropes Of Internet Marketing From An Endless Stream of Other Internet Marketers Who Were All Experts On Every Thing You Need To Know About Internet Marketing, Copy Writing, SEO, Social Meia, Human and Animal Psychology, Forensics, Cooking, Strategic Chemical Warfare and......
Listen, I'm simply having a little fun with all this today...Please don't think poorly of me as I share my thoughts. (or do, I just try to keep it real)
You must realize that every young guy that ever walked up on one of my jobs that had a hammer was a Master Carpenter with years of experience...Even though their shinny new little hammer still had a the Home Depot sticker on it.
I know, we all have to start somewhere and I really do love this industry and all the guys and gals I've already been able to meet. I truly believe this is my calling. I have found my WHY in life and that, my friend is special.
Despite all the noise I'm having a whole lot of fun and that's very important to me. I've always said, If you can't enjoy what you do, than find something else to do. Wouldn't YOU Agree?
Hey Jason, when are we going to get to meet? My wife and I will be going to a big birthday party in Houston next month. Maybe we'll see you there?
Anyway, keep it touch and make sure to stay up-to-date with my satirical posts and articles over at http://mitchelldillman.com/partner-with-mitchell/
See ya soon!
I really am looking forward to working with and helping so many folks out over the coming years. If anyone is interested in visiting in person, just follow the link to my site and you'll find my number.

5 Stars!
Hey Mitchell,
Great article! You are so right. Bombarding people with information is not the way to go. Steps and in due time depending on who the person is and their goals.
I look forward to watching your business grow!
All the best,
Jennifer
That was inspiring
Hello there,
I must say that I am not surprised to see your article as one of the best this week.
You have my vote and I wish you massive success!
Best Regards,
Joanna Vaiou
I must have missed something
Mitchell,
I read your entire article with pen in hand just waiting to hear about the next wham-o-dyne thing. You can imagine my disappointment to get all the way to the end and find it contained only VALUE.
You have a great writing style too. You must have been amazing with a hammer when you are that good swinging a pen or keyboard.
Refreshingly excellent!
Loved it!
Mitchell,
Thank you for the great content. You addressed a sad but true concept. It truly does come down to taking the bull by the horns and doing the grunt work to get to where you want to be.
I like your writing style!
Indeed!
I suspect this is one good reason so many people fizzle out of network marketing. Too much information too fast is not only overwhelming, but it's also exhausting. Seems like most people do not function well under that sort of pressure. If we relax and let things happen naturally, we can actually form good relationships, and everyone can be successful.
Thanks for this.
~Judy
You're a hoot!
Mitchell, I like your style. You've got my vote. I'll pass it on to the rest of my team for those that aren't already members of bn or who, like me don't always read these emails. (There are so many and I'm not a speed reader!). I'll take a peek at your site, too. Thanks for your input. Keep your vision clearly in front of you and we'll see you there!
This is REtweet Material !
Mitchell Dillman - You made me laugh! Such good honest information. No more lets makes a million in a day as soon as you sign up. That is a red flag when someone says that out of their mouth. We all know - this is a marathon not a sprint. Great article.

Retweet !retweet!
I agree Mitchell. When someone comes at you with guns ablazing, asking you to lay your card on the line and take one, "of everything" for the team, maybe it is time to "retweet", for a while and do a thorough reckie...
Thanks for this. Very insightful and entertaining.
Your right
This a long term business. Most of sign up drop after 3 months and complain they made no money. Ask them how long did it take to learn what you do. The second questions did they make business cards or talk to any one.

The 'Newbie'...
Hey thanks Jennifer,
For your kind comments and just taking the time to read my dialog.
You know, Everyone comes into this from a different place and it seems we may just need to judge each new member of our team with a different pair of glasses...
Yep, there's plenty more to come ;-)
Thanks again,
Mitchell Dillman
Happy to Inspire...
Well hello Joanna,
Sure nice to hear from you...I'm happy to hear this brought you some inspiration, that's something I've always aspired to do. Inspire others!
Keep an eye out, I'll be posting more inspiration real Soon...
Thanks.
The really interesting thing
The really interesting thing is that as a Manager I would never assume all my team members were at the same level and with the same skills. That's because I've had Management Education. For some reason some network marketing and direct sales Sponsors fail to learn, how to manage teams. It's an actual skill you have to learn. Some people are naturals most are not. Leaders are made not born, real life is not a movie and Bruce Willis is not their to save the day.
Any professionally qualified managed will tell you there are four stages to a team becoming effective. A team has to be managed through each staff to the final stage Performing.
I really believe the reason people stop early is lack of team management and understanding different team members have completely different skill sets. As a Sponsor you are a Leader and the first job of a Leader is to know your team.
It's Hammer Time...
Hello Scott, Thanks buddy.
You know, ever since I traded my hammer for a hard-drive, my level for a laptop, and my compressor for a computer, I've been building like never before!
I can tell ya this, I'm sure happy to be here...I wake each day with a smile, ready to attack my 'to-dos' and learn some more 'techno-go'.
For a 45 year old framing carpenter to 'find his WHY' in life is OUTSTANDING...
Thanks for your support, I'll keep it coming.

NO Bull...
You said it Mary.
I, probably not unlike yourself, was taught that I could do anything I set my mind to, and that with focus, persistence and hard work I could become anything I wanted...
Sometimes it just takes the right spark to 'start the fire'.
Thanks for your comments, keep watching for more.
A true Win Win...
Yep Judy, I agree.
When you really care about others and simply try to help them reach their own optimum levels of effectiveness on their own time you too will grow.
Each of us has a 'breaking point'. To take someone right up to that point over and over again without snapping it will ultimately cause Huge growth.
I feel very fortunate to have found a sponsor that has challenged me and 'stretched' my elastic band allowing me to push myself into growth. Jumping in with all the systems and tools may not be good for everyone, yet for me it's proven to be a Win Win...
Thanks for your comment.
felt your energy
great article my friend..felt your energy coming through your words..keep it up
Like the Old Twirtter Owl...
Thanks Bobbi,
Your comment about keeping my vision in front of me is much appreciated!
So much of who we are comes from where we have been and yet it's where we are headed that seems to draw out attention...The here and now is where I find myself, and today has been a blast. It's nice to be here.
Thank you again for your comments.
Your friend,
Mitchell Dillman
Go ahead, Cluck like a chicken...
Angela, you know what they say...Laughter's the best medicine.
I'm happy to offer you a dose of mine.
A marathon indeed, and as it turns out, I've run many!
We'll see you at the finish line, I'm sure of it.
Thanks, we'll talk more soon.
Ah, More Bird Talk...
I like that Anita, "retweet, retweet"...
I posted a BN blog a few weeks back full of Bird Talk, making fun at Twitter and I missed that one...Goose stuff!
Thanks for your attention and comments, I gotta fly.
Make sure to go peck out my Twitter blog "Sing like a canary, cluck like a chicken, scream like an eagle..."
I had alot of fun with that one too.
Thanks.
The T.E.A.M.
Sounds like you've got a real handle on the concept of T.E.A.M. Andrew.
I like what you said and hope to visit with you some more in these regards...
In all my years as a small business owner I never once referred to any of my crew as working for me. We all worked together...Each member contributing their part to the overall synergy of the effort, Bravo my friend.
Let's connect on this some more soon.

Energy through Words...
Thanks Eb,
This makes me smile...From what I've learned over the past couple months being online, if we're able to express the energy we feel through our written word we stand a good chance of meeting more people.
Now I'd like to thank you for reaching out to me...It really means a lot that you took time to respond.
We'll see you again real soon, I'm sure of it.
Stop taking advantage
People in this industry need to really take this heart and think about the prospect not themselves. So thank you Mitch.

Spot On!!
I could swear you were writing on my behalf. Mitchell you rock and have a great gift. Those out their that claim to be leaders in this industry better watch out for the Dillman Rocket. From what i have seen and felt so far is that many have no clue of leadership. As you know after 2 years in the military I know what leadership is. Stop talking and just Prove it! I am so happy to have met you and feel so comfortable with your leadership. I want a seat on your rocket. At the speed you are going i think you might beat Richard Branson to space.
Thanks for the great article

Ad-in, Ad-out...
Thanks Rafael,
It's important for each of us to remember how it was when we started in the business.
If we can hold on to those feelings, approach each of our new teammates with those thoughts in mind, the advantage becomes mutual. Everyone wins.
You keep up the good work.
