What's Your Story? - What To Do When You Get A Crummy Start In Your Network Marketing Business
Have you gotten a crummy start in your network marketing business?
Maybe you've had several!
My friend and mentor Diane Hochman has a morning show on the Home Business Radio Network. (by the way...this is what you should be listening to instead of talk-radio...remember what Jim Rohn said...doesn't matter if the Democrats or the Republicans are in office anyway...)
In a recent show Diane was talking about the importance of the 'Push' to get a great story right out of the gate.
What story am I talking about?
When someone starts in my primary company the first goal is to get them a great product result right away, literally within the first few days, because that story is going to sustain them as their faith in themselves grows to belief and finally matures to conviction.
At the same time, I push to get them a great income success story for the same reason.
Only slightly less critical than having a great story for their own benefit and edification is having a great story to share and inspire others.
Nothing will "sell" more product than a great product story and nothing will inspire someone to join your network marketing business than a great income story.
But what if you don't have a great story? What if you floundered starting your network marketing business, or you've had a couple of false starts with other companies?
You tell the truth...
"It took me a while to get serious, but when I did this is what happened..."
If you are ready to hunker down and hustle then you can build a powerful story in short order.
Getting Serious About Your Story
The past is something you don't have any control over. That little line I gave you above is your free pass to shake it off and get a fresh start.
But now it is time to get serious.
Map out a plan. You don't need to do this alone and shouldn't do it alone. Contact your upline, revisit your training materials, set a realistic goal and then start chipping away at it.
This will all be part of your story. Your story will grow as you do. Don't allow false starts from the past to limit your belief.
Not everyone gets it right the first time and the truth is that many don't get it right the first time.
Sit down with the person in the mirror and the two of you decide that it's time to get serious so that you can create a great story of your own!
