Which came first: Success or The Act of BEING Successful?
Which came first: Success or The Act of BEING Successful?
It's one of those "brain-twisters" that every Network Marketer should ask themselves...
Kind of like "Which came first -- the chicken or the egg?"
You get my drift?
This seems to be the MAIN thing I see holding people back --
not SEO...
not PPC...
not Social Media...
Having the wrong MINDSET and a lack of CONFIDENCE is the main thing holding people back!
You've got to be able to influence people to be successful in this world, simple as that.
Let me give you an example:
Say you are an expert at SEO. You've spent your 10,000 hours just absolutely MASTERING search engine optimization strategies to get yourself a boatload of leads.
Heck, you've even set up a system that gets those leads to call you, instead of you calling them.
(We all know it's easier to sell to someone who called you first.)
But if you act like a scared chicken when it comes time to talk to these people -- you're S.O.L.
Do you go around Facebook or Better Networker and follow all the goo-roos until some of that goo-roo magic "rubs off on you"?
Well, yes and no.
Great answer, right? Why so cryptic?
Because of the chicken and the egg.
You see, only the chickens are making any money in Network Marketing -- so why on earth would you go around acting like an egg?!
By all means, go connect with leaders in the industry and learn from them...
(Personally, I see myself as on a lifelong journey of discovery -- there's always more to learn.)
But don't act like some little fanboy follower sidekick who has nothing to offer!
Does that sound egotistical? Hopefully not, I mean it in the best way possible...
Because I believe that it is a selfish act to learn something useful and not to share it with others who can use it.
Once you start teaching other people info that will impact their lives for the better -- you are acting like a chicken (but in the best sense of the word ;)
But first, you have to learn your "chicken secrets" from all the best roosters and hens...
And that's where it gets tricky again if you look at the post's original question:
"Which came first: Success or The Act of BEING Successful?"
But I have the answer for you:
Successful people are always increasing their value to the world and a true entrepreneur is "one who solves people's problems for a profit or for pay."
So if you ask me, success is something you achieve in small increments, day-by-day, through the Act of BEING a successful person.

Egg or A Chicken?
Well, since I don't think I was a natural born leader, I would have to say that I've experienced success as a result of being around people that were and taking mental notes on the way they acted and how they handled situations.
Great Article,
Eric McMillan
Leaders aren't born...
They are made!
So you "raise" a good point there, Eric.
I think we need to make ourselves into leaders -- it's not like it just "magically" happens for people.
So I think a lot of people can relate to your statement, including me.
