“A little Chicken Soup with your home based business Sir?”

 Is your home based business making you feel poorly?  Are you feeling disheartened that it is not living up to your expectations?  Are you sick and tired of trying the same things over and over again and not gaining any ground with your prospects?  Do you just wish you could curl up in bed in a dark room, have someone tuck you in nice and warm, soft blankets up around your face and feed you a little Chicken Soup and make everything all right again?

 We all wish it could be so.

 All of us enter this network marketing business with so much hope and enthusiasm for the future.  We think we have found just what we have been searching for – the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow – we have visions of ourselves driving that brand new BMW and holidaying on a yacht in the Bahamas, stretching out in the warm sun on the deck, drink in hand while we casually monitor our laptop for those new leads which magically pop up every day automatically putting thousands of dollars into our bank accounts.    We luxuriate in a carefree lifestyle where the sky is the limit and we are debt free, worry free and stress free.

 Then poooff…..!  the BMW vanishes, the yacht disappears into the sunset and the dream disintegrates into a million wispy threads and we are back in the real world where the Adwords monster eats up our hard-earned money every week whilst producing no leads;  we are still stuck in traffic on the 9 to 5 treadmill;  Mother Google suspends our advertising accounts;    our budget is exhausted and we look around wondering what else we can hock to fund our home based business, leaving our partner wondering “What the … happened to the wide screen plasma TV that used to live in the corner of the living room!  and we rue the day we thought this was a good idea and would gladly throttle the person who introduced us into it.

 Sure we realised that having our own home based business entailed some work, because no-one gets something for nothing.  Right?  We know it’s no get rich quick scheme, but what we didn’t know was THAT IT WOULD BE THIS HARD.  Suddenly there are things to learn that are so alien we feel like we are living on another planet.  Terminology that only a 5th dan black belt in computer science knows – and we are expected to know!   We feel like someone is keeping a great big secret from us.

 So we battle on, buying courses via the innumerable emails that somehow come across our desk (when did I subscribe to that? you scratch your head and wonder) - which promise untold riches in no time at all, or investing in programs in the belief they will contain the secret answer to all the questions we are seeking.    They tell us so - they promise us it will be so….SO- IT MUST BE SO!

 Do not despair.  Here’s the part where we get down to the Chicken Soup – and it is so sensible that it will leave you wondering why you didn’t think of it before.  I guess that’s because you are so engrossed in getting your home based business up and running that it is impossible to think outside the square.  But that’s what you’ve got to do.  Pretty much it’s a self-awareness learning program and it’s FREE because you already own it.  It is in your mind you just have to learn how let it out.

 Here’s a quote from the original ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ book, “Do you understand what it means to create a special moment in someone else’s life?” 

 And believe it or not that’s what your home based business is all about.   Helping other people to achieve their goals and dreams.  Once you have changed your mindset to think that way I can promise you, your business will take off and that BMW and the yacht in the Bahamas wont be some misty unattainable dream.
