Be consistent, your business depends on it.
Over the past week I for some reason got sidetracked with my daily routine. I stopped writing out my daily list and even didn’t follow my daily things that I needed to do. What was just a couple days turned into five days before I even realized how much negative momentum has kicked in for me.
It’s crazy how it takes so much more work to get something going, like writing content everyday etc… then it is to keep it going. I was a couple weeks into doing my daily list and it seemed easy to do everyday. Then one day I pushed back a couple things because of life events and before I knew it I caught myself rationalizing on my other task.
Although it was only 5 days that I didn’t write content it sure feels like I didn’t write content for a WEEK! It’s just like when you go to the gym all the time then you stop going for like a week, try to come back and it feels like you’re starting all over again. Well that’s how I’ve felt the last couple days since I’ve started going back to my daily routine. I have caught my mind trying to rationalize my task with “oh you’re tired tonite, just do it tomorrow morning, or other various excuses. But I know that I have to get momentum back on my side so I’m just pushing through.
I didn’t really know what to write about for this post because I felt out of ideas but I figured I’d write about what has happened over the last couple days for me and how you can avoid it for your business.
So even when you feel like what you’re doing might not be working or what you’re doing isn’t giving you the results that you want, just keep at it. Keep writing that content, keep marketing your website. Keep doing those daily mundane things that don’t seem to matter because guess what THEY DO MATTER those little things are what separate the average people and the successful people.
If you’ve been on the fence to take action on anything or have been paralyzed with laziness, the first step is acceptance. Accept that it’s OK to mess up or get lazy from time to time. The difference is in how we get back into it and learn from those mistakes like I did.
Just remember that momentum either works in your favor or against you. Remember that it’s easier to get it working against your than it is to build it.
