Becoming a Great Marketer and Leader is a Skill, Not Just Talent.

Read More: Mindset

It seems that some of these gurus and successful people were natural born business people. And some of them probably are. Some people have a talent and are more adept to being successful. But that doesn’t mean that anyone else can’t achieve greatness.

Being a great marketer and leader is a skill. Something that can be learned and improved. No one is born that way.

There are different traits and abilities that help us all become great leaders. And if we take the time to learn and improve these then we can all succeed. Traits such as these can be learned:

- courageous

- helpful

- knowledgable

- honest

- willing to take a chance

- loyal

- self disciplined

To name just a few. And not to mention all the other typical skills we learn as we go (these are a bit more obvious, but are just like your traits, they are learned):

- making good copy

- generating leads

- making good products

- speeches

- valuable services

These are traits that we can learn and train ourselves to be. We can make these habits part of our personality. We all have the ability to change ourselves for the better if need be. It’s not a questions of who we are, but who we can be. How can we make ourselves more effective. In marketing and helping others. That’s what we do is solve problems and help people.

You have a choice to become a great leader. It’s not some holy grail. It just takes time and persistence. And a great desire to succeed!

Skill vs. Talent

Well done Chris. Skills are honed ongoing. We learn from each other to make the planet a better place. Courage, risk, loyalty are part of the process of the power of association. Discipline allows us to arrive sooner rather than later. I, too, believe it is not talent. It is skill to market to your audience and it is skill to become a powerful leader.

Skill vs. Talent

Very well stated Chris. Success leaves clues and it just takes Skills in order to find those clues. Everyone has talent, so skills and success can be learned if your coach-able.
