Change Your Life
As we reflect on the current time frame and look to the one ahead, some of us find us scratching our heads saying what happened? With each year, one hopes to improve our circumstances, but with the declining economy, so many of us have found the year to have only put us into more debt.
My husband who was a vice president of a major real estate franchise was laid off a year and a half ago. He has applied to so many jobs I can't even keep track anymore. The frustration level of more debt, enormous health insurance cost (our cobra is now over), and credit card interest became unbelievable.
With my credit in danger, my house on the line, and stress levels at their max, I turned to the internet. I kept typing in "change my life." I wanted a life preserver to be sent my way. I was surprised at what I found. I found a lot of scams, a lot of people like me, and a whole lot of education available. I will speak to the positive, the education.
Program after program, ezines and newsletters, I read all I could afford.
What did I learn? I learned there is a way to "change your life" on the internet and there are many ways to do it. I learned that you have to surround oneself with people that you want to emulate, people you want to encourage you, and people that will help pull you along. You have to get the nay-sayers out of your head, or at least not tell them about what you are doing. They will all tell you that the internet isn't safe, or don't waste your time.
Well, I am here to tell you that there is a lot of confusion and garbage out there, but once you start doing your due diligence you will start to find ways to turn off the noise and find the education that is valid.
How you ask?
Look for things to repeat. If you keep hearing about monetizing, or long tails etc., then you should see several books on this over and over. Believe me, there is not one perfect company offering all the answers. However, there are some companies that seem to offer more services, organization, and education. So, plow through to find the best and most current offers. Also look for companies that have great support and regular webinar and conference training offerings.
You can make a living off the internet, but it will take around a month of dedication re-educating yourself about all the new sites on the internet and how they can help you market your business. It will take about a month to set up your websites and put quality content on them to sell any product. Then and only then should you start to promote a product, unless you are doing direct selling (which I have done, but it did not make me wealthy).
The true issue is how badly are you craving a new life?
How badly do you want to change? Are you willing to give up television, shorten your free time or meals? Spend your extra cash on education? If you are serious then you will find your answers. Just like in the olympics, you have to want to be great. You have to want it with your whole heart, mind, body, and soul.
Think like an Olympian. Seek greatness. Keep learning and growing. If you find you need someone to encourage you, and you are dedicated, I am willing to listen to your needs and let you know if you are heading in a good direction. Here is to a new and better life!
