Things are being made clearer every time I read Think and Grow Rich...
This Chapter called Persistence has seared and branded a permanent mark on my very soul. It is amazing to me how one can take such a deep desire and turn it into something immovable and steadfast.
This has caused me to look up the definition of PERSISTENCE:
PERSISTENCE - 1. Refusing to give up or let go; persevering obstinately. 2. Insistently repetitive or continuous act.
A great word picture is where Mr. Hills uses persistence as carbon is to steel. With the combination we would not have steel.
I do believe like Mr. Hill that many of the great leaders and achievers have been misunderstood due to their will-power and desire. With out this drive none of our great inventions or aspirations would have come to pass.
It is also very evident that a mastermind group was tapped into at some point. Please note not a nay sayers group but a forward, open minded group of people reaching pass there own self reliance to mix with the outward thinkers…
The word picture that came to my mind is mixing paint. You can just a plain white paint and turn it into vibrant and brilliant colors. This is the very reason I believe God did not make all of cookie color folks. Life is more than what you see and your mind has more potential than you can imagine.
Greatness in, Greatness out. It is a choice or a desire that we have to consciously and subconsciously recognize and control.
Mr. Hill states: You may find it necessary to “snap” out of your mental inertia, through a similar procedure, moving slowly at first, and then increasing your speed, until you gain complete control over your will. WITH PERSISTENCE WILL COME SUCCESS…?
Ask yourself do you have these traits and be honest. The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself and believe a lie.

- DEFINITENESS OF PLANS
- ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE
- CO-OPERATION
- WILL-POWER
- HABIT
I dare you to read this book and open your mind heart and soul, so that you to can be on the road of success….

Great lesson Danny. Persistence is the key! If we don't continue on, then we are quitting. So "Onward!" for us, right?

Danny, great article. Napoleon sure knows his stuff and yes we do need persistence. As Juanita stated yesterday, if we do not commit and be persistent, then every seed we have planted has been grown over with weeds and we need to start all over again. We need to have a definiteness of desire, plans and commitment. Thank you for sharing. Great value.

Think and Grow Rich is a Tremendous book to read but it just doesn't have the same effect as when you read it and send in your thought's, so the entire group can here your opinion of what you got out of it. Great Book and Great article. Without persistence and determination what would our world be like? I like the part about it being an inside job! So true!
