Did you ever hear the story of the tribesman

He had no knowledge of cars, never having seen one in his life, he wondered what its’ purpose was.

From the outside, walking around it, he admired the symmetry, the paint job and the chrome and he thought maybe it was made for the sake of beauty.

He sat in the car, adjusting the bucket seats up and down and he wondered if maybe its’ purpose was for comfort, like a small house or dwelling.

He turned on the sound and listened to the stereo effect and he wondered if it was created for the enjoyment of music.

He turned on the headlights and he thought maybe its’ purpose was to shed light. The horn when pushed convinced him the car was made for issuing warnings.

Then someone filled the car with gas and the vehicle started to move forward. He finally figured out what the real purpose of the car was. The car was to provide transportation but even with all its luxuries and beautiful appearance it didn’t fulfill its’ desired purpose without gasoline.

Our blogs and webpages can be like that. Beautiful, lots of whistles and bells but without marketing, our blogs/websites won’t go anywhere. They won’t fulfill the purpose they were created for.

Marketing is the gas that is going to propel our business in whatever direction we want to steer it.

Does gas cost money – in the everyday world? Yes. Does our marketing require an investment on your part? Yes – big time ! An investment of our time and our capital. As much of both as you can possible afford. Otherwise you may be sitting in a beautiful, comfortable vehicle, unable to go anyplace.

Make the commitment to learn marketing: watch the emails coming from the experts. What did they do to capture your attention? What words did they use to get you to click through? Get on any and every training call or webinar you can where they are focusing on marketing/sales techniques. Learn the language of sales/copywriting.

Invest your time and yes, your money if you have to, but get the gas and then get your vehicle moving.
