Don't get lost in the dollars!

We've all seen the adds. They appeal strictly to ones need or desire for money. The more desperate the need, the more alluring that type of slogan becomes and that's where the danger starts.
The focus becomes the money - which often veers into a numbers and recruiting game. Building personal relationships and discovering the real wants and desires of you prospects gets lost in the shuffle.
Ever notice a professional athlete when they are "in the zone"? They are completely focused - one goal - one purpose - nothing else matters. That's where you have to be to generate success and that focus has to be your prospects. You total concentration should center around them - their needs - their wants- their desires, concerns and wishes. Your own wants shouldn't really exist at that point.
Only when you are "in the zone" and fully focused will you and your prospects be thinking alike. Then my friend, you are on the right track.
Make your main goal fulfilling the needs and desires of your prospects - don't get lost in the dollars.

"in the zone"
Thanks for reminding me how important this "in the zone" was and is for me. The training and team hype can often leave out this very basic mission of helping others without a thought to our own needs. I have seen the hype divide leaders from numbers orientated trainers to more listening and empathetic business owners.
Money is a necessary evil but you are right, we need to put that aside for the great good and growth of ours and other's businesses.
