Every Successful Online Entrepreneur Has This In Common
I am the most successful woman ever in my company. I tell my story on the Ann McLaren page so no point in repeating it here.
No, I've written this article because I've been mulling over why it is that I've been so successful when others, just as smart if not smarter than me, have failed.
I'm certain that everyone has an entrepreneur inside them but some people have more trouble igniting their entrepreneurial spark than others.
In the same way that some people get behind the wheel of a car for the first time and are natural drivers while others struggle (I passed my driving test third time round!), some new online marketers turn out to be born racing drivers while others are still stuck spinning their wheels!
Just as pretty much everyone can master the art of driving a car eventually though, anyone who puts their mind to it can become a top home business owner. It’s not exactly brain surgery!
The crucial difference between driving and being an Internet marketer is that too many new home business entrepreneurs give up the ghost, complaining “this is too hard, I can't do this”.
If failing at their home business was going to have the same negative impact on their lives as not being able to drive a car, how many people do you think would give up?
And there lies the rub. The majority of people joining a home business have a job. They may loathe the job, the boss, the long commute and the long hours but the bottom line is that it’s not the end of the world if they don’t become successful. Life as they know it isn’t going to change.
Compare that to the inconvenience of a lifetime spent begging rides from friends and travelling on public transport because you can’t drive a car. That’s why people are a lot more determined to master the skill of driving than they are to master the skills needed to make a go of their home business.
With the benefit of 20/20 vision, I reckon that if I’d had the security of a regular income and the knowledge that the roof wasn’t going to fall in if I didn’t make a go of my online business, I wouldn’t be sitting here now mulling over why I’m the most successful female of all time in my company.
But the fact is that when I joined my top home business, I DIDN’T have financial security and, metaphorically speaking, my roof WAS going to cave in if I didn't start making money online pretty quickly.
The fear of being broke, the fear of what would become of me when my money ran out is the main reason for my success.
Put simply, I was successful because I didn’t have a choice.
In my research of the world's most successful online entrepreneurs, that seems to be the common denominator.
Mike Dillard, Frank Kern, Tony Robbins, Tim Erway, the list is endless and every one of them will tell you that just like me, Ann McLaren, the fear of the consequences if they didn’t succeed was much greater than the fear of whatever they'd have to do, whatever sacrifices they were going to have to make, in order to be successful.
In other words, the fear of pain is a much greater motivating force than the pursuit of pleasure.
That's why if you're not currently "living in fear", you need to come up something which is going to put enough fire in your belly to motivate you to spend the 15 hours per week you'll need to build your business.
So ask yourself: How secure is your job? Your pension? Your children’s future? What about your old age, do you have enough saved to enjoy a comfortable retirement?
Once you've found the fear to drive you, and provided you’ve chosen a business with proper marketing training, the rest is a foregone conclusion.
That fear is the fuel in your tank which turns you into an unstoppable force.
