Experience The Beauty In Life

This may be a generality but I am fairly certain that we all have experienced challenges in our lives. So we can empathize with our friends, neighbors, coworkers and even strangers when we take notice of them experiencing similar hardships. How many of us, as a result, have a corresponding shadow of repressed emotions of anger, sadness, guilt and shame in an attempt to feel better about ourselves… that we are good people – worthy of attention, friendship and love.

I have found that in cutting myself off from myself leaves me empty… feeling as though something is missing in my life. I have always felt that there was something to know about myself but had no clue of what or where to look. Life can be a welcomed distraction when our problems seem unsolvable. So I pursued my accounting career, my life as a husband and father, bodybuilder, swimmer, friend, family member… your list may be similar or completely different. Regardless of the activity and success the common denominator is still myself, and I returned to myself at the end of each day and every day with the same hollow feeling.

It wasn’t until I started to look at myself and truly accept those unsavory feelings as a part of who I am, that their hold on my belief of who I could possibly be began to lift. I was never really lost. I have been who I always will be. The only difference being the experiences that I allow myself to experience and my appreciation for being who I am.Am I special, am I unique? Sure I am. Am I better than anyone else? No. So, how does one experience the beauty in life? Experience its shadow as well.

When the truth in me meets the truth in you our imagination is limitless.
