Finding Your 'Why' Moment...

Change comes.

Change comes to everyone, every second of every day.

Whether positive or negative, change is a fact of life.

Some people are self destructive, accelerating negative change,

Some people are very constructive with their time bringing about positive change –

Most are either complacent or ignorant of their surroundings and these constant changes.

Ignorance is bliss, so goes the saying. However, for those of us who have awoken to the changes that happen, who have realized self ignorance is no longer an option.

As you are reading this, I can only assume that you have chosen to be constructive, and bring about a positive change in your life. Good for you. This is an amazing first step of your 1000 mile journey.

So where do you start? You need to start by finding your ‘why’ moment. Your ‘why’ moment is when you realize why you are driven to do, that which you are about to do / are currently doing.

Your why cannot be a simple “to make more money”, your why cannot be run of the mill, unemotional b-rate movie sort of material.

Your why moment, needs to be core-driven.

Your why moment, needs to fill you with emotion, either negative or positive.

This why moment is where you find your reason to succeed.

This why moment is where you find your reason NOT to fail.

So how do you ‘find’ your why moment?

Sit down, ask yourself… “Why do I NEED to succeed”.  Notice, I did not say “Why do I WANT to succeed’.

Needs are stronger than wants. Needs are life or death, wants are cable television, and cup holders.

You may start with something that sounds dumb. That’s okay. I did. Everyone does. Nobody becomes a guru overnight, nobody knows everything, ever.

So start out. Write down your core values. What drives you? What has truly pissed you off in the past? Why? What has made you laugh? What has made you cry? What has made you happy? And again, why, why, why?

From this point on, you can see what fuels you, negatively or positively.

Now.

Imagine your success.

Imagine your failure.

Which gives you a stronger feeling?

Harness that energy, write it down. Explain the emotions, the feelings, and the thoughts related to both sides of the story. Once you have this list, work on it until it is down to the core. We’re talking barebones stuff. Raw human emotion. Once you’ve got it – you have your list. Remember, the money is in the list. Not just your list of contacts, but also in your list of reasons why.

Use this to fuel you out of your armchair, and onto building your businesses. Use this list, and ones just like it to accomplish ANYTHING you need to accomplish.  Just wanting is not enough, you have to truly NEED something for your animal instinct to kick in and accelerate you forward, along with your willpower, along with your skills. Use every tool you have at your disposal.

This is the power of the ‘why’ moment.
