Get The Last LaughAgainst MLM Haters...Just Like The Temptations Did

I was watching one of my favorite movies the other night, The Temptations, and after it was over, I got to thinking. Now if you've never seen this movie, I recommend that you either watch it next time it comes on television or go rent it from Netflix or something.

Be forewarned, though...it's one of those made-for-TV movies that lasts about 5 hours long. Initially when it aired some time ago, they spread it out over a week. Now when they put it on television, they just play the whole thing at once.

Anyway, I know that biographic movies about entertainers don't tell the FULL truth, but they depict it based on someone's recollection and naturally Hollywood adds their spin on things as well. But whether or not this movie was totally true to the real-life experiences of the famous singing group, there is a lot to be learned from these guys.

First of all, the Temps went through a HECK of a lot with trying to make it big in the music industry. Then, once they got a "break" and got signed by Barry Gordy and Motown, they went months and months and months without ever getting a hit record. They even became known as "The Hit-less Temptations" LOL!

But they never, ever let that stop them although there were times they felt like giving up, going out and getting jobs, etc. But they hung in there and they persisted until they succeeded. Along their climb, they encountered some people in their lives who doubted them, people who gave up on them, members who quit on them and more.

And through all of that, they still made it because they never gave up!

One of my favorite parts of the movie is when they had their first television appearance to perform the hit song, "My Girl" and in the movie, they'd periodically show some of the people who gave up on them or quit on them and how they had "the dumb look" as they watched this group having major success.

Yes, they had a lot of ups and downs before success and definitely afterward, but the point is that they never let anything or anyone stop them.

So think about this in terms of your business. How many times have you heard people tell you things like, "You need to give up that pipe dream and get a REAL job!" or "Those things never work" or make you feel as though you're a fool and a sucker for even getting involved? How many times have you felt like giving up because your success hasn't come as quickly as you thought it should or because someone on your team quit? I know I surely have, many times.  But you have to have the same "can't give up...won't give up" attitude and mentality that The Temps had.

Don't allow yourself to feel pressured by what you see and hear on the internet when these marketers promoting their programs and businesses say things like, "You don't have to wait one year or five years to become a millionaire". Fortunes are not built overnight...wealth is not built overnight...success does not happen overnight.

If you feel solidly about your industry, stick to it and make it work...tweak anything that needs tweaking, but don't give up. Allow the voices of the naysayers and the actions of the quitters to drive you even harder to succeed and you can have the last laugh just like the Temptations did!
