How To Be A Bubble Pusher!

“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is compromise.” – Robert Fritz

Much of the answers that you seek are within your grasp but it seems like something always tends to get in the way. Ultimately the result is that you end up limiting the choices that can drive your personal life to a higher level of success.

There are many things that you can do to get you in gear, get you into action and to help you avoid limiting your choices and potential. Some of which are: 1) Be A Bubble Pusher, 2) Pump UP Your Mindset, and 3) Straight Jacket The Monkeys. In this post I highlight how to…

1. Be A Bubble Pusher.

A few years ago I went to a mind EMPOWERING seminar and during one of the breaks a tattered piece of paper with the following words painted in blue was projected onto a white screen….

Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You.

Later I found out this quote was from The Great Eleanor Roosevelt.

For a brief moment as I read those words on that huge screen I could not help but wonder if any of the participants in the audience had just experienced a surge of literal fear rushed through their veins.

I wondered if they asked themselves…

Why in world would I do something that scares me? Or…

Why would I put myself in a situation where I was not in control?

I had done some scary and incredulous stuff in my life and knew that when you limit your choices you end up limiting your potential. Yet even though I had done some mighty wacky stuff I still questioned myself, “Have I really done that? Have I truly lived that philosophy?”

My mind quickly responded, “Well not every day!”

Anytime you step beyond the boundaries of another person’s perceived threshold of pain, stress, or inner control, you are treading on a different level of personal growth.

We all live in our own bubble of sorts that defines our boundaries and our safe zones.

But to truly live in the moment and know you can do anything, it requires that you push yourself outside your safe zone.

Be a Bubble Pusher!

Right about now there should be a RED flash and some warning lights going off….

This is the part when I say to also take heed of common sense, capabilities of your body, and accumulation of positive evidence to support idea or behavior you are contemplating.

Push the limits for the expressed purpose to GROW not put self in precarious situations so that your life is in jeopardy. That scenario is not part of this paradigm.

It means do something that’ll shake you in your boots because you “think” you can’t do it.

It’s doing stuff like… create your own business, speak to over 300 people, live in a foreign country without any family ties or command of its language, help other people build their businesses, co-author a book, write your own book, contact and speak to “famous” people in your field, walk on fire, break an arrow with your throat (yeah those last 2 are doozies and incredulous)….

But if that other stuff really rattles your brain then you can start with basic but just as terrifying situations like clearing the 20 ton pile of clutter that’s on top of your desk, make it a point every day to talk to a total stranger for the expressed purpose of making them feel like a million bucks, or pick up the phone and talk to the one person you’ve been meaning to reconnect with for the last month.

The idea is to do something every day that pushes you outside your comfort zone. For if you remain in that zone, growth will be stunted or better yet growth ceases and mediocrity sets in.

It all starts with the 3 lbs. of mass sitting above your neck. You need a check-up from the neck up. So, the other way to push yourself beyond your limits is to upgrade your mindset.

Stay tuned for my next post when I discuss how to do just that!

Do Remember that Mr. Bubble has nothing on you;)

Another Bubble Walker!

I recall hearing about "pushing the bubble" at a seminar
I attended last year...

Pushing ourselves to and beyond our perceived limits is
something we all need to consider doing every day!

Lets Put This Into Our Plan Of Action

A great thing to put into our plan of action is to do the things that we can not stand first correctly and then do the things that we enjoy. That way we will work faster and cut down on the time wasted and the pressure on ourselves.

Taking Charge And Action

You got it Lawrence and Cathie!

It's about shaking up our action plan.

Doing something totally different so that we get ourselves out of the state of complacency that sometimes we accept as normal.

Our perceptions of limits is what freezes us into a state of fear and we need to snap out of it.

We were born for greatness!

So start right now and step out of your bubble even if it's a few inches!

Thanks for the inspiration, and nudge lol..

Always great to hear words like that Miriam, as days turn into weeks and before we know it - wow what have i accomplished, so thank you for reminding us to atleast do one thing - It certainly is better than nothing, and before we know there will be lots of things accomplished after a while. Cheers for the insight and reminder. To your success!
Cheers Dale.

You Cannot Achieve What You Do Not Attempt

Thanks Miriam! That quote is great and reminds me why I love this kitchen magnet I have sitting on my desk that says... You Cannot Achieve What You Do Not Attempt! This is so true and sometimes we just have to push beyond that fear... because our fears sometimes hold us back from achieving something really great or actually accomplishing a dream.

I still have my broken arrow and when I look at it, I'm reminded that at the time I didn't think I could actually break it. When I first tried it, it was hard... and that made me feel a little scared (which I wasn't anticipating --- after all, all these other people were doing it!). But it was all in my 'head' and then I did it! And so now I think to myself... how many other times have I NOT attempted something just because I let a fear hold me back. Now my inner voice says "Nonsense... you cannot achieve what you do not attempt!"

Great article!

Miriam, you rock!

What a great reminder! Can you imagine how much more engagement and excitement would be possible for people if we challenged ourselves to push our boundaries each day beyond the self-imposed bubble?

I've stayed inside the bubble more time than I care to admit, and yet every bubble breakthrough I've ever had came from popping past the little reality I created. When I read this post, I found I couldn't comment unless I became a member. So I just did. May seem like a small thing, but it's the habit of breaking through that counts.

It begs the question- What would your life look like if you made a daily habit of doing at least one thing beyond the 'ole comfort zone and into the "beyond your bubble" zone? Thanks for stirring the pot!

Bravo Bubble Pushers!

That's what I'm talking about Tim!

Not just breaking through but stepping completely out and finding a way to leave your mark.

It's the accumulation of the simple and small stuff like Dale and Victoria mentioned that ultimately end up giving us an edge.

And yes Cindi, how sweet to offer others hope by stepping out and doing what you think you cannot achieve.

Love hanging out with inspiring Bubble Pushers!

a check-up from the neck up

Great points about testing your mental boundaries every day - pop you own bubble and blow a new one!! Fantastic!

Thanks Miriam!

I believe the only way to success is coming out of your comfort zone & learning from your mistakes! Keep on pushing on with true commitmnent!

Thanks Miriam!

Grate article you have here! Definitely motivating and helping others realize what they can miss out on if they don't step out of their comfort zone. I believe that what we did not do would make us regret more rather than what we did wrong. Thank you once again!

Miriam, "Bubble Pusher" is Great

Hi Miriam,
I've never heard the term "bubble pusher" before, but I love it. I ran into something similar in a T.Harv Eker Seminar where we had to 'feel the fear and do it anyway" by smashing a wooden plank in two with our bare hands... I never thought I could do it, but as you say "if you push the limits with the express desire to grow", you will in fact 'grow out of your comfort zone' instead of tunneling into mediocrity. Thanks so much for the awesome article and sharing the 'bubble pusher' concept with us :) -Jeanne
