I couldn't believe it !

He's 4.  FOUR ! years old that is.  He made me feel like a complete idiot.

Let me backtrack a bit.   My little guy tugs on my pant leg and wants to know if I'll play with him.  "Hmm, Sure", dishes can wait.  (That's a great excuse not to do dishes)  "What are we going to play, son?"  His little face shining - "Com'on mom, let's play Wii!"

OK.  He hooks me all up to the controller and the numchukky or nunchukky thingy and we both face the TV.  What are we going to play?  He's excited.  We're going to box !   In a ring !  We have pretend boxing gloves on. Okay. (Hear the hesitation in my voice?)

But first we have to create a  little person that looks just like me.  Name: Mommy.   Colour: Pink.  Wait there's more.  I have to press A , A again, pick L or R, press A, press A and B together (no mommy, at the same time) and we're in the boxing ring.   Remember this trainer I have is 4 !

Three rounds.  Okay I can do this.  Wait, he knocked me out.  How'd he do that?  Well this little trainer explained to me I have to hold my nunchucky thingy up in front of my face, punch with the other one and "do it faster, mommy, faster".  Okay, I'm down again.  Do I have to get up?  I kind of like it down there (this is the mommy speaking who handles any thought of exercise by lying down on the coach until the thought passes).  I'm kidding.  (Really, I am)

Another lecture about ducking, uppercuts, rabbit punches and I am really starting to feel like an idiot.   Needless to say the kid won.  Lots of assurances from him that I'd get better (the kid was smirking ! ) and I'm allowed to catch my breath.

Wow.   OK.  Kid's in bed.  Back at my computer and onto a training call.  Piece of cake.  Wait - this trainer is saying SEO is easy.  The idiot feeling is starting to creep in again.   SEO is EASY?  What planet is he from?   Wait everyone else seems to be understanding so it's me - I'm an idiot and everyone else is super cool with it.

Off the training call, stewing about my stupidity and I realize those voices are back again.  You know the ones - "You're fat, ugly and stupid. You'll never get this."

This time I stop them.  I'm not listening!  Tomorrow I'll listen to the replay and it will all make sense.  I know it !

I'll beat that kid too - just watch me !  After all, he's only 4 and I'm not a complete idiot !

And besides I'm a network marketer and we don't give up when the going gets tough.
