Paralysis By Analysis-Get Your Marketing Butt To Moving!
News flash! There is a fatal virus plaguing the marketing community. It’s called “Information Overloaditis” and one of the main symptoms of it is paralysis by analysis.
OK, let me quit playing.
On a serious note though, this is a serious problem for many new Internet/Network marketers. Those who are new to the business are at the greatest risk.
But watch out, it can also strike those of us who have been around the block a few times.
If anyone out there is not familiar with the term “paralysis by analysis“, in a nutshell it means that you are trying to take in so much information, that you get to point where you cease to take any action at all.
Now this can deal a fatal blow to your marketing business.
Without action, there will be no results. Faith without works is dead. You have to be actively marketing your business if you want to see any results.
Yes, I too wish that we could generate leads through osmosis. If I could do that, you could just call me Osmosis Jones, but nope, it doesn’t work that way. Back to reality!
You actually gotta do some work. Don’t just talk about it, be about it.
I was going through an Internet marketing course by industry guru Eben Pagan, and he stated that there is one thing that really separates successful marketers from unsuccessful marketers.
That one thing is “speed of implementation”.
The amount of time that passes between the time you learn about a new marketing strategy and the time you put it into practice.
In other words, successful marketers “immediately” take action when they learn a new strategy. They don’t worry about trying to make it perfect. They will do that later. They just want to get something out there and test the results.
And that is what you will need to do to defeat “paralysis by analysis“, just get something out there. Get your marketing butt to moving!
Here are a 2 strategies that you can use to help you overcome “paralysis by analysis”.
1. Only focus on learning 3-5 skills at once and only try to master them one at a time.
I started off by working on 5 primary free traffic strategies. I call it the “AlreadyBeen Proven Free Traffic Vacuum.”
A-Article Marketing
B.P-Blog Posts & Commenting
F-Facebook
T-Twitter
V-Video marketing
And…
2. Delete the noise from your inbox-Inevitibly, you will probably end up subscribing to everyone and their mama’s email list. Everyone has the “key to success” and will want you to try to unlock your business with it.
You gotta know when to hold em’ and know when to fold em’. (Thought I’d throw a little Kenny Rogers in there). You can’t try to learn everyone’s strategies at once. I’m sure they are all good but you gotta learn how to FOCUS your efforts.
Either delete those emails from your inbox or unsubscribe from those email lists! You don’t need those distractions especially when you are first starting out. If you try, you will come down with information overloaditis and I’m sorry, but I’m fresh out of medicine for that.
If you have any other advice on how a person can overcome paralysis by analysis, I’d love to hear about it. Leave me a comment below and I wish you much luck in your marketing endeavors.
Much Success,
