People That Had an Effect on You and Your Business, Who Are Not Marketers

Many people influence us personally and in our business values. The big dog marketers that have been doing it for years and are raking in the dough, can teach us a lot. And some we even mentor with. Because we believe in what they are doing and they are extremely inspirational for us.

There are also other people besides marketers that have had an influence in our lives. Including our business values. Family most certainly is influential on us. One way or another. But what about other influences? Other people that are not marketers or family?

I have a great passion for music and the people that make it. And even though they don’t seem to have much to do with running a business, they still had an effect on my values. Here’s an example:

Perseverance

There is a band called Die Form (forewarning, they are very different if you decide to check them out). They are from France. And it’s basically just one guy running the whole show. His name is Philipe Fochet. And his little creation, Die Form, has been around since the late 80’s. Now here is why he has had an influence on my values.

When he started out, he did everything. Wrote the music, produced it, made the art for it, everything. And he did this for years. Only within the last few years has he hired on others to help him produce the albums.

He basically started from scratch and built his own project to success. Now he has a very devoted following and many other artistic venues that he works on. This is a mantra we can put towards our business as marketers and leaders. Never give up and always keep going forward. Work your way through the hard times and you will succeed.

Extreme Passion

Another person, that I’m sure many of you will have heard of, had a big part in my life as well. His name was Steve Irwin. Many of you will recognize him from the show “The Crocodile Hunter”. Now a lot of people thought he was pretty goofy. But it was because of that he was successful. In a different way.

His goal with the show and his zoo in Australia was to be able to show the beauty of the natural world. The living breathing animals of nature that hold such awe for him. And he did do that, no matter how goofy he seemed. He was like that because of his passion. He is one of the most passionate people I have ever seen. And that always got to me.

I’ve loved animals all my life, and when that show started, I was amazed by his extreme passion. It was contagious and it’s something that we can take into many parts of our life, including our business. Passion for what we do.

There are more people, obviously, that have had an effect on my life. And in turn my business values. But these two have some of the most. All kinds of people can effect us and our outlook, personally and in business.
