Protect Yourself! 5 Daily Practices That Will Save Your Life
The other day I was reading some of the news on the interweb and came across a piece announcing that Phil Harris of "Deadliest Catch" had died. I was instantly drawn to it because I am an avid follower of the show and have been since its inception. I remember watching episodes of this guy sucking down Red Bulls and cigarettes like they were going out of style. He was doing this to make a couple hundred thousand dollars a year. I started thinking to myself, "what good is that money if the way you are living to get it leads to an early death?" Then my mind started thinking about my own MLM success and some of the stress and unhealthy things that can potentially come out of it.
From that, I came up with the following daily practices to a better life.
Exercise, exercise, exercise. Make exercise a part of your daily routine. As little as 20 minutes a day will make a huge change in your health. My favorite thing to do while working out is to listen to my self development courses. I made it a point to find a way to fit it into my tight schedule.
The second habit that you need to get in is to be concerned with your diet. You can work out all you want and it won't help if your diet consists of sodas and pizza. No amount of exercise can offset years of the wrong diet.
Third, have a specific time everyday that is spent for you to be in solitude. 15-20 minutes is more than sufficient to give your mind time to clear and refocus on what you need to get done for the day. An affirmation meditation is one of the best ways I have found to start off my day.
A good laugh is one of the most overlooked things people can do to relieve stress. Take time out a few times a day and read some good stories or comics that will make you laugh. You will be amazed at the change in attitude a couple of good laughs can provide.
Last, but not least, you must reduce any overindulgence in alcohol and tobacco. Neither one are great for you anyway, but doing them in moderation will provide some increased health benefits. Myself, I like drinking beer and have realized that cutting back to drinking less and only a couple times a week has dramatically improved the way I feel and my productivity.
I hope you won't take this article the wrong way. The article is not meant to be a sermon, but when I see a guy I (and millions for that matter) have watched for the last several years, die prematurely, it really hit home. Those guys make several hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, but what good is it if the lifestyle it takes to get that kills you? MLM success is what everyone is chasing, but be sure that your lifestyle doesn't cause it to end early.
Take this challenge with me. I am challenging myself to look at my lifestyle and make adjustments so that I will be around to enjoy the MLM success I am achieving. Make a change in your life for the better and you will be happier , healthier, and more able to enjoy all of the success life is going to throw at you.

Mens Health Issue: Why do wealthly people live longer than the..
Last year Mens Health Magazine did an article on Why rich people live longer, look better, and are healthier than the poor and middle class.
It has nothing to do with the money they make. Wealthy people are willing to do things that the poor and middle class will not so they are healthier and longer longer because of it.

Totally in Agreement
I agree with Chris. Give me more money and I will feel much better.
Do you think it's because the more money you make, the more time you want to spend it.
Great Article Eric. Though asking me to drop alcohol and then showing me a picture of 12 beers is a little... I guess just mean.

Specific time in solitude each day... Hmmm...
Hey Eric, I have never thought about your point on spending some time in solitude each day, I will have to consider that.
