Rock On!
Answer to a forum post on Better Networker
I don't know the exact number I've spent on my business.
It kinda scares me.
I do know that it's over $75,000 in the past 18 months.
Ouch.
Has it been worth it?
Well, the train has left the station.
Still chugging under full power at low speed.
Momentum is picking up.
I will achieve a profit this year. Yay!
What have I learned?
Money is just a number, unless you don't know how you'll get enough.
It's critically important, yet is in such abundance that you can always
get more.
Every single person here started a business to make money, but for some
reason they won't admit it, and even go so far as to say they didn't.
You can burn through $100k a year just as fast as $35k a year, and still feel
like you're not getting anywhere.
I teach people how to own a business, not run it.
If you ever want to have that time on the beach, you'd better start thinking
about how your business will run without you.
Your job is to be the General, not the Captain.
Strategic thinking, developing plans, financing the operation, etc.
The day to day management is best left for your team.
If you don't learn the difference between being a business owner and
being in business for yourself (self-employed), you're doomed. You'll soon find
yourself trying to do everything, achieving nothing, and failing.
You simply can't do it all yourself.
From AC/DC:
"I tell ya folks, it's harder than it looks. It's a long way to the top,
if ya wanna rock n' roll."
Rock on, regardless of the cost.
It'll be worth it. ![]()
