Skip Months of Misdirection and Confusion,
Implement this Action Plan and Gain Traction Fast!
Success at the Speed of Now
It may be easy to find your momentum at the beginning of the new year, or when you are first excited about starting your new business.
But then there are some days that you may begin to feel that you’ll never reach your goals.
You may begin to feel discouraged, and then let old habits return, and doubts and negative thinking seep in, finally putting off what you might otherwise do Now to take that one more small step.
But if you learn to recognize this feeling of faltering and doubt when it first occurs, perceiving that your enthusiasm and expectations are waning, then you can take action now to stop that thinking, regroup and once again visualize and reaffirm your belief that you will reach your goals.
Then decide that even just one small step right Now, today, will keep you on that slight edge. That one thing may be something that actually makes a huge difference later.
Why Not Now?
For example, a profitable option in my company is to have some retail customers. So having decided that was what I would spend some time focusing on, I worked on adding this to my list of business activities.
So I had listened to several retail training sessions and had ordered samples, fliers, and had them with me in my car.
The particular product I was planning on starting with was a healthy energy drink which can sell easily at privately owned convenience stores and recreational shops. But I was a bit nervous about this new plan, something with which I was not yet comfortable.
But I passed a few opportunities by to stop and go in to assess the applicability of the opportunity with some store owners. Finally one day as I pumped gas into my car, even already a little late for work, I said to myself, what am I waiting for? Why not Now?
As it turns out that was an incredibly timely decision. The manager of the store was not only very interested in carrying the product, he was also as it turns out very interested in joining the business with me.
Another example is my decision to start blogging. I didn’t consider myself an expert, but everything I had learned I decided was something someone else may like to know too. So I made the decision one day not to wait, to just at least now create the blog and at the very least START it.
I ended up creating two, one for each target market of customers and networkers. Thinking I must be nuts, having a full time job and still working my business, how would I manage to post one or two articles per week for each one?
That decision after a year now has led to having blogs that get lots of search engine traffic, social bookmarks, and favorable comments and reviews. Not only that, it is from these blogs that I have accumulated my largest numbers of retail customers and business partners.
The Road to Success is Many ‘Feat’ in Length
So, as you will look back after many of those small steps, little feats, you can be thankful that you took them once you see the distance you’ve covered.
You’ll know that doing just one more thing today will count tenfold later. Your success is absolutely made up of all those little steps you took ‘Now‘ instead of putting them off.
By 'Success at the Speed of Now' I'm just referring to the arrival of your success by your attracting it closer to you by taking action now every step of the way.
When you find your motivation, your drive, nothing stops you, and your belief and momentum increases. Your goals begin to seem as if they’re coming right at you instead of your trudging through quicksand trying to reach them.
Enjoy your Success and the Path which gets you There!

I'm glad you started blogging
Vicki with your talent you will be very successful online. As long as you can show people you are successful, you will have followers just by sheer magnetism through your written word.
I hope your ultimate goal within the next year or two is to make that magic figure of $100,000 each month because you have the capabilities to achieve that.
Onwards to your success,
Joyce Penner
You got what it takes Vicki!
Sounds like your doing a bit more than "Slight Edge" your success is sure to follow!
Joyce, Paul, Thank you!
I appreciate the complements and kind words. I am at least living proof that it is possible to make real progress given limited time. With the demanding schedule I have, writing not being my primary business activity (but certainly my primary marketing activity), I still wish I had more time for it, and yet I've made obvious progress in both. Of course I highly recommend Jeff Olson's book 'The Slight Edge', can you tell? It is this philosophy that has made all the difference to my progress, and my goals are set and definitely reachable!
I hear you !
Now the plan, do and review is crucial. Set your monetary goal and do your review on a consistent basis. Be prepared to tweak, change and revamp as your goals are met or not met and your schedule will be a thing of the past.
What an awesome feeling !
Joyce
Good Move!
Congrats, Vicki, on your courage to make these moves! I forget who said, "You don't have to get it right. You just have to get it going." Well done.
Yep, Do, Review, Revamp, and Go!
Sometimes I barely recognize my plan as it gets rejiggered on almost a daily basis, but primarily it's a simple matter of prioritizing as time allows, and tweaking activities as results become apparent! At least my goals are consistent! :P
Yay Vicki
You obviously have a talent for putting word to paper, or in this case computer. I always love reading your posts as they give me food for thought for the day. Congrats on 2 Blogs
The "Slight Edge" hits paydirt again!
A brilliant use of a brilliant philosophy! And you have added your own twist to it... "Why not now?" I must admit that I used to be pretty good at having a dozen answers (excuses) when I asked myself that question. Anymore? Not so much! Thank you, Vicki, for sharing your talents. :-D
Just DO it!
Great advice Vicky,
You are a great leader and the why not now and just do it! Outstanding.
Thanks,
Timothy C Burns
STOP IT
When those negatives thoughts pop in, just stop it.
"Taking One Small Step Right Now"
Vicki, this is a good topic you brought up. There are times that I have felt discourage and doubt, and I think it is very important that you stated to regroup and visualize what your goals are. Personally, When I have negative thoughts, I have programmed my mind through autosuggestion and self talk. I do step back and visualize what my goals are and think of my "why" My why is what keeps me going. There are times I take baby steps and once I visualize my goals, my desires, motivation, comes back. I think everyone has discouraging days but through value, support and keeping close to the fire will keep you on track. Thanks for sharing this. Great Value.
Baby Steps Will Take Us To Our Dreams!
The Slight Edge has had the most impact on my life thus far. I know I can do those little things on a consistent basis. When life tries to throw a curve ball I focus on taking the right actions, even though they may seem very insignificant at the time, and watching myself move "through" the situation will bring great results. I know that being consistent is the key. When we have those days where they seem so hard I focus on my "Why" like Therese said and I know it is all worth it!
