The OMV - Stop Chasing Perfection - How Pursuing Perfection can Delay a Great Launch

Read More: Mindset

It's easy to get caught making your product, site, or ad perfect. If you delay putting things out because it doesn't seem quite good enough, this can be a trap in itself.

It's great to make something that wows others and makes a great impact. It's perfect! But perfection is subjective and what some see as really good, others won't like it at all. It's all part of the natural course of things.

But it's real easy to get caught up in that your project could be just a little bit better. You could make this just a bit better. You want to keep working at it until it's perfect and will be the best of the best. Perfect!

But as I said, perfection doesn't really exist. Everyone looks at things in a different light.

So what is a person to do? Work with the goal in your mind to make great products. But don't forget to be realistic. Make it the best that you can and get it out to the world. There are so many people around that a majority of people will probably like it.

Strive for great products and content and then get it out! You are human after all and perfection does not exist. Here's a few tips to help you out.

- Have someone else look over it and get their opinion. Just when you think it could use some more work, others may be able to tell you it's fine the way it is

- Don't concentrate on the little things. Sometimes it easy to get caught trying to fix everything. But chances are those little things are something others won't even notice.

- Take a break from your project. Step away and come back to it later. You may just find out that it is actually really good and ready to send out into the world.

- The parts your working on, are they really relevant to the product itself? If not than you may be wasting your time on something that's really not that important.

Just remember, nothing is perfect. Work on the things that aim for your goal of the project. Think about the standards you would put on someone else if they were doing it. Get it done, get it real good and then just do it!
