The Power to Be Your Best
Read More: Most people wonder what it takes to be able to have the time and financial freedom to do what you want when you want. This is what I like to call "owning your life."
Some people have been there for their family, their friends, and every one else in their life. Always putting others first.
Then something happens.......
That certain time in their life arrives.........
Because you begin to ask yourself:
"When is it My Turn? When will someone help Me?"
Is that you? Are you asking "When is it My Turn?" If so, then considering these things:
1. Rediscover your passion, figure out what you like to do
2. Start a Self Development Program
3. Find a team of positive people to help encourage you
4 Work with a Coach or Mentor
There are three types of people in this world, those that have success right away, those who take a little longer to create success but don't ever give up and those who give up on their dream.
The first group are those that are successful right away. They find their passion, a dream or desire is sparked. It seems as if the planets have all lined up for them, the fire is light, success starts to happen right away and they never look back.
The second group are those that take a little longer to discover their passion. It has been hidden from them for so long that it just takes a little more than to figure it out. Several months or maybe even years goes by; however these people never give up. They start a self development program, get a hold of the right books, find a team of positive people that encourage them and slowly over time they began to learn the decipline to create success.
In between the two groups are those that give up and quit. They do not manage to hang on to their desire to own their life long enough to create success. Because it is not easy to stay out of the group that ends up quitting. It is vital that you find a team of positive people to help encourage you. The key to owning your life is to not fall into the group that ends up giving up on their dream.
Personally, I am a member of group two. It took me a little time to discover my passion, to build up my confidence and begin to have success toward owning my life. Fortunately, I never gave up. I found a team of positive people to encourage me and a mentor to guide me. I like to refer to them as my tribe. Seth Godin in his book, Tribes, says a tribe is any group of people, large or small, who are connected to one another, a leader and an idea. A group only needs two things to be a tribe - a shared interest and a way to communicate.
Everybody knows that at some point you have to put into action the new skills you are learning. Otherwise why waste your time learning the skill. Once I stopped letting my fear get in my way and put into action the skills, I began to see small daily successes. Those little success helped to build my confidence on the inside. The more I grew on the inside, the more action I took and the more my success grew.

Thus the concept of building from the outside in. If you build up the habit of taking daily action steps that take you toward your goals, then your outside actions begin to help you change the story that is going on inside your head.
Most people that are in between group one and group two who find a "tribe" to help coach them along the way do not end up quitting.

Great post, Debi! So many get caught up in the Get Rich Quick hype. When they don't see it happening, they give up. Those who find a great opportunity, stick to it like a stamp and focus, will reach their destination. The "tribe" you speak of is soooo essential! Plus, it is so much more fun when you have a great group to work with! :)

Thanks for the great info, Debi! I can really identify with this article as a work at home mom. As women and moms, we have a tendency to take care of everyone else and at some point, wonder where all the time has gone and why we haven't taken time to do something for ourselves. It is important to find that passion and live our lives out with purpose. Doing so with a tribe cheering us on is a key element to our success. Nobody does this alone! :) ~Sabrina

I'm so thankful for my tribe...we are there for each other and this is so essential because we can't do this business alone! By putting action to your dreams you will have success. This reminds me of "The Slight Edge" philosophy...be Consistent in your Daily actions. Apply what you learn Every Day and always ask yourself: "Are the actions that I am taking today getting me closer to fulfilling my Dreams?"

Thats right Debi, there are 2 main groups and I am with you in group 2. It has taken me a little longer to start acheiving success but I found an amazing group of people and I have a personal development plan and I know my team and I are going places. : )
