WHAT’S UP WITH THIS BETTER NETWORKER THING?
Okay, please stay with me until the end. I’m going to take a stab at this article writing “thing”. Gotta start somewhere. First, a brief description of my marketing background. I have been involved in half a dozen MLM’s over the last 12 years. Some success in some, not so much in others. Why you ask? Well, for 12 years, I really didn’t have an answer to that question, but now I do. The answer is “passion”. I’ve had many interests over this time period, but no passions until now. I have always been intrigued by the internet. Just knew there had to be something to this “internet” thing. I mean, there was no way I was going to be able to travel the world and connect with as many people as I can via the internet. Can you say “Global”? I am ecstatic about what I have stumbled upon.
Now the story begins. Twelve years and many trials and tribulations later, I was speaking with an upline in the company I was involved with and asking if there was a low budget way to advertise. Well, he sent me a link to a product he purchased and said he refers to it periodically. So I thought, what the heck, can’t hurt. I clicked the link and was taken to a site about Building on a Budget. Well, I read this from cover to cover in one night and was very taken in by the information because it’s what I had been thinking was possible all these years. Well, not to ramble on too much, but maybe I will because this is fun. Hang in there because there is a moral to this story. The e-mails I was receiving from this low to no-cost budgeting course, in turn, led me to check out some guy named Mike Dillard talking about attracting people to my business like a magnet. Everything I was reading felt like it was me talking. I was totally in sync with everything he was saying because I had these same thoughts for years. Well, I couldn’t resist this information so I bought another course and read it front to back. It was “magnetic”. While reading through and learning some things with my new magnetic course, it was recommended to check out a site for networking that would better my chances of finding some answers from people just like me.
I was gullible so I proceeded to sign up for BN and during this venture, came across an article from some guy named Ferny (what a funny name I thought at the time). Turns out, this Ferny guy happens to be one of the most professional entrepreneurs that I’ve actually had a chance to talk to personally and begin to network with. So, believe it or not, here it is only about 3 weeks later and I’m starting to read several articles on the BN forum. Now, maybe I’m mistaken, but it seems like the forum’s name is Better Networker, which I would define as networking with people of a common interest to “better” their business. I have to say I’m a little disappointed when I read some of the posts of some that think BN stands for “Barking & Nagging” because I’m too lazy to do what it takes to be successful. Maybe its lack of passion. It all starts with us. If we don’t have confidence in ourselves, how are we to expect other people to confidently follow and trust us. We all have mentors to take our unresolved issues to. That’s the only place we should be targeting our negative issues. If you want help, ask for help nicely, but please don’t bash others. There are new people joining this forum every week that we should be showing a positive impact upon. Isn’t that what you would want if one of those new people were yours? This forum should be, as I stated before, for “bettering” our business through a networking standpoint and uplifting those around us, not for griping because we had a bad day. If you’re having a bad day, please don’t login, just grab some chamomile tea and a good personal development book. Well, that’s about it for my first article. I am proud to be a part of BN and look forward to networking with many of you that are going the same direction I am. Hey, Carl, need a sidekick?
