Who Is The Pilot And Who Is The Co-Pilot?

Let us go through a flight assimulation. This flight assimulation pertains to old Network Marketing strategies verses new strategies that has come through the mentors and coaches of the Mentoring For Free Forum.

I think it is important to identify the symbolism of these characters of the flight assimulation.

• Airplane = The Marketing Plan, our vehicle to get to our desired destination
  

•  Pilot = Our leaders of the Network Marketing company that we are working through
  

•  Fuel = Residual Income to get to our destination for retirement
  

•  Flight Plan = Our goals and what altitude we want to fly
  

•  Lift = The support of our Mentors and Coaches and reputable 5 Pillar companies
  

•  Speed = Our sustained commitment and work ethics
  

• Traffic Control Tower = Network Marketing Companies and the Policy and Procedures for doing business
  

• The Runway = Fast start bonuses and incentives

Seeing that we have established that we are the co-pilots of our own personal home based business, (scarcasm included) we really do not have a clue how to fly an airplane. The pilots (Our leaders of Network Marketing Companies) we believe, are supposed to train us to fly the airplane successfully so we do not crash the airplane and injure the passengers.  So we are the co-pilots (as franchisers representing the Network Marketing Company) and we are listening to the control tower and the pilot by giving us the instructions on what we need to get the momentum for the lift so we can reach our destination safely. This means that we have to gain enough speed (our Commitment and Work Ethics) to lift ( Mentors and Coaches) off.

There is one big problem with this scenario and that is an inexperienced traffic controler (Network Marketing Companies). I would imagine that most of the management of these companies haven't built a large organization before. The instructions for the Policy and Procedures are written with legal language as to protect the company from the agents or franchisees. I refer distributors as being franchisees because we are under the impression that we have our own home based business and yet we do not have full reign of our business.

Let us take this flight plan one step further. Let us get into the plane (the vehicle that is going to take us to our destination through the marketing plan) and we are warming up the jet engines and are sitting on the runway waiting to get clearance. We have the engines racing at a high RPM and we finally set off gaining speed (our commitment) to roll down the runway. We intend to gain enough speed so we can lift off (Mentors)  the run way and fly to our destination (our why's for doing a home based business as well as the lifestyle we want). We know that we have to have enough fuel (residual income) to get to our destination.

If for some reason, mechanical or not, the plane cannot gain the altitude for our flight plan (our goals ) we are forced to circle around and find a place to land (disappointments and failures) and the flight arrangements are aborted. As most of us know this is a devastating time, This is the time when we take on the lie because we take failure personally. What was the problem, everything seemed to be in order and yet we had to take a forced landing? Well it is sad to say that it could have been the old business model of Network Marketing. It could have been that we were taught to listen to our mentors of the old network marketing strategies.

There is a good point that needs to be brought up now. How would a new company with being in Pre-Launch know what problems they will experience for one, and for another what is driving their business practices? If the products do not sell as intended, the pressure goes down the line to the home business owner by having him/her go out and recruit more people. The more money arrived at one time sign up fees and distributor kits could very well carry a company month to month until they can not play catch up anymore. This is very disappointing to the dreams, goals, and work the individual put into making a better future for them and their families.

We walk away with shattered and disappointed when things did not work for us. It takes time to get over disappointment like that. We grieve because of being in love with the business and the products. After we finally recover through time, another opportunity comes and we cannot pass this one up because we still have not met our destination. Someone approaches you and say hey I have a great opportunity for you to get into this new company and you are just a little ways down from the top. Get in now and secure your position. The families and friends can only deal with this a few times before the Network Marketing Industry gets jaded by the public.

Yes, I went through that over and over again because I wanted the lifestyle and the residual income to retire. I was told about the Better Networker  by my sister Coach Judith. I did not listen to her at first because I was bent on doing all I could do to make my Network Marketing business work. Finally one day a couple of months ago I reached my final point. Coach Judith said the magic words " try going on to Better Networker and check out what you see and let me know what you think".

Since I have been in the Better Networker Community with all of its perks and benefits, I have found a gold mine. I found the Free Mentoring Forum as well as experts in the industry, they are the best of the best Mentors. I knew I had to learn by my mistakes by not rushing into an opportunity without checking out the company itself. When I enrolled in the last Network Marketing company I did not even read the Policy and Procedures Agreement nor did I read the Terms and Conditions Agreement. I did not even check out how the Compensation Plan worked because it was too confusing. I did not want to disappoint my friend that introduced me to the company. I felt obligated to enroll as a means to make my friend happy. I thought well I will just jump in now and I will learn about it in time. Does this sound familiar to any of you? It is only to common!

What gift I found through this whole experience is that I need to treat it as a business by reading everything and taking counsel from my mentors from the Mentoring For Free Forum.
