Why Are You In Business?

There is a reason for everything and nothing just happens. I won't go in to the philosophical point of view here but you are here for a reason ... because you want to be! The question then becomes WHY? Why do you do the things you do? Why are you in your business? Why not just a job? I can answer that one ... it won't give you what you are after!

There are a lot of reasons why people do things and there is a pretty wide variety in those reasons. There is pleasure, pain, joy, sadness, love, hate, need, and in these there are still more, family money, illness, protection, giving, taking, power, and the list can go on forever. We all have our own reasons and though some may be close no two are alike. What my why is will not be the same as yours.
Your why is not just for your business it's for your life! Why you are who you are, why you do the things you do, why you don't do those things that you refuse to do. Why are you in business, why you did or didn't get married, why you do or don't have children. All of these whys and more are created from who you are, a life time of input from the way you were raised to where you lived which enables, or causes you to make choices! So if your choices are caused by your why, then why are you here?

What is your Why? Do you know what it is? We all want things, but most people actually only require the basics, which is water, food, shelter, and companionship. However what we want is quite different and understandably much more, and if I were to try and build a list of what we want it could go on forever. For it is only restrained by our imagination!

The need to have a why is great in MLM as well and the need to know what that why is, and that it is essential to our success. The Why is the foundation of your work the reason you get up in the morning, why you are going to work your business every day, why you are going to stick with it and not give up, why each down turn is OK because you have your why to hang on to, why you celebrate each victory being closer to your why.

My WHY was money, I was one of those who had lost a job during the time in which our country was is distress. Financially going broke, no jobs, running out of unemployment, running out of all our savings and finally going bankrupt. I decided that working for someone else was not the way to go for me anymore but I had a few very large hurdles to get over. I had worked in retail for over 30+years and everyone came to me and now with MLM I had to go to them. Huge difference, huge. My wife was still working but in a job she no longer enjoyed or liked and actually now hated. So at first my Why was money but I came to realize that money was not the core of my why, money was the tool, my why was now my wife, and time was my reward.

So sit for a while and decide what your WHY is right now and then look deeper and see what it really is. Remember money is the tool we need to make our WHY happen and your business is the path you take to get your tools, lots and lots of tools!
