Moving From Ideas to Action

Everything begins with belief. In his famous book written in the 1920's, Napoleon Hill let it be known to the world that the most successful people have a very special secret. That secret is the the basis of his book Think and Grow Rich.

In Think and Grow Rich you will learn about the power of belief in moving you towards your dreams and goals. The most important thing to take away after you read this wonderful book is that beliefs have to encompass more than just words.

Whether it's Napoleon Hill or others who have more recently written about the Law of Attraction, one  aspect becomes very clear. Your beliefs need to be something that you see, feel, taste and absorb into your soul.

People do this in all different sorts of ways.

Many use a vision board, which  I highly recommend. To be its most powerful, a vision board should be more than just a big white board with words. A vision board comes alive with pictures, photographs, poetry, even items that represent the direction that you are heading.

Be creative with your vision board and make a point of spending time with it every day. Then take those feelings that you have developed on the board and be still with them. For your beliefs to become reality, you must "trick" your brain into to "knowing" that the dreams have already come true. This is how the Law of Attraction really begins to work.

Take time in your day to sit quietly and reflect on your beliefs and on your "why". If you don't have a strong "why" written down, stop reading this and do it now. Set your goals in writing as well.  Be aware of areas wherein you tend to sabotage yourself, and be sabotaged by others.*

Take Action - I want you to sit quietly again with a pen and a piece of paper and answer the question: “What does success mean?” You’ll be amazed at how different people’s answers are from each others. You answer is the starting point for your journey.

It all begins with belief.

You touch upon a very important aspect of creating success. Belief. A good reminder to check in and feed the beliefs that will take you in the direction you want to be going. Thanks.

It begins...and ends with belief!

People do not realize that what they truly believe is what manifests itself in life. Often times people fail in business for no other reason than they did not think that they would really succeed. The doubt they have in themselves and what they are doing creates the end result. Changing the belief can change the result dramatically.

Belief, the locomotive

Belief begins the process of creation and then builds upon itself with each step you take. It grows and grows to something much bigger and better than you orginally thought and bigger than you, yourself.

Mindset + Goals + Training + Actions + Measurement = Success

Great post Deborah. You raise great points about the importance of setting goals, having the right mindset (belief plus persistence) and taking actions.

Two other points to add to achieve success are getting the right training (so you don't spin your wheels) and measuring your results.

When taken together, these factors will lead to success!

Believing in Yourself

Great video and post Deborah. I look forward to the other two parts of this very important series. Believing in yourself, trusting that you can become successful is a mindset that really does need to be established to be successful in business. Without it the "devil's workshop" of "if onlys" can take a serious hold on the mind and turn the possibility of success into failure. Having a goal, a strong belief in what you are doing and a 'burning desire' to acheive your goals equals success.

Belief fuels Intentions which brings Results

It's so true, that the core of getting anything done is having a strong belief system that supports all your efforts, and encourages you when the going gets tough.

Belief is a dream that is planted in us

There is a dream planted in each of us - and we have to have the belief to pull it out and make it become real. We are not just doing things because it seems fun - all the tools that it takes to make your belief come true in already inside. You just have to act on what your gut is telling you to do - :Believe: it is real and it will be come real. I have the skills that I do in networking because I am built to do this line of work - it comes naturally and I am always learning and building on it. You can too

Believe in Your Dreams

Probably every great mentor starts with their clients belief system. Belief in yourself is the foundation that you build your dreams upon.

Thoughts are things

Hi Deborah,
This is a very timely article and teleseminar. I just picked up Think and Grow Rich after not having read it for over 10 years. I first heard about the book in my first go round in network marketing and I read it about once a month. But in the back of my mind there was a nagging thought that this was just "Woo Woo" stuff. And I think (no pun intended) that is why it didn't work for me. My doubts were hindering my belief which were sabotaging my results.
But this stuff works.
For a detailed explanation of how it works, read Psychocybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. This book explains the mechanism of Think and Grow Rich with supporting science but it is still an easy read. This is a great book for those who have to have logic before they can believe something. Read it.
And so much that has come since Think and Grow Rich is based on the concepts and ideas in that book, either intentionally or not. An example is neuro-linguistic programming and The Secret book and movie.
I know this stuff works. When I took my professional certification exams (CA - Canadian equivalent to CPA) I did all this stuff. I had a dream and a definiteness of purpose. I believed. And I accomplished my goal which was to be #1 (gold medal) for my professional certification. But I hadn't even read Think and Grow Rich back then. So this works even if you don't understand it.
Thanks Deborah for your article and your teleseminar.
Cheers! Calvin

The stuff that dreams are made of

It is very interesting to note that your brain does not know the difference between reality and dreaming. Remember the last time you had a nightmare....your heart races, your pulse increases, your breathing quickens all as a result of some dream.

You can use this same principle by programming yourself for success by focusing on your aspirations, positive thoughts etc.

We are such amazing creations!

Thanks Deb for the great content and reminder to stay positive in all things.

Without Belief You're Adrift

It will be belief that will take you where you want to go. Not just any belief but that which is believing in yourself and that you can achieve your goals, no matter the setbacks.

Belief is quite synonymous to desire. And to keep your belief strong, one has to read empowering literature, be open to new possibilities and surround themselves with like-minded people.

The Power Of Belief

Think and Grow Rich, one of my favorite books of all time.As Doug mentioned in his comment thoughts are things but it's belief that brings these thoughts to fruition.

The Inner Being Of The Mind

Deborah,

The article and the recording was great. I truly loved how you told your readers and listeners what its all about..., "the inner being of the mind". And what it takes to wrap yourself around that discovery.

Thanks For Sharing,

Setting Goals

Hi Deborah,

I recently did my goals, in writing. I still need to do my dream board. Honestly, I thought this was a waste of my time, but more and more, I'm seeing how having it in writing changes my mind set. It's an amazing exercise.

Thanks for the reminder about the dream board. I'm off to get it started.

If You Don't Know What You Want You Can't Have It!

All too often those of us in "Attraction Marketing" shy away from all things "Old School" yet having a clear vision of what you are trying to accomplish is essential to you being able to achieve it!

Thanks for this reminder and the GREAT instruction Deborah!

Thank you all for your thoughtful and heartfelt comments. When all the bells, whistles and technology are cleared away, all that is really left is your beliefs and your motivation.

Mindset to Success

If you have been in Internet and Network Marketing for any length of time you've heard it said that your Mind Set will determine your success. I think this is true in any business. It is said that our success is determined 90% by our Mindset, and 10% by the system we follow to build our business.

A strong belief

Rallie Rallis — Tue, 10/13/2009 - 5:13pm

Mindset.

Deborah,

I listened to your telephone workshop when you originally broadcast it. I thought it was excellent.

I feel that having belief in yourself and having the proper mindset are keys to having success in life and in business.

I like your suggestion to write down what success means to me. When I'm looking for a solution to a problem or an answer to a question, I like to write down what I am looking for. I then sit there quietly and let the answers come to me. It's amazing how well that works for me.

Thanks, Deborah.

A Timely Reminder

It's sad that many people dont' get to this point of belief and understanding until they have suffered with their lives and business's unecessarily.

Mindset and thought processes should be taught in school not left to chance.

We truly are what we believe and think about.

When I am looking for a solution I now find a quiet place and go within . It never ceases to amaze me how the answers and solutions arrive - right on cue.

Keep up the good work and spreading the word.

It All Starts With Belief

Deborah, Thanks so much for this article. Anything in life is possible when there is belief, emotion behind the belief and last, but not least...Action. Think and Grow Rich is a testimony to what can be done through the power of belief, even during Napoleon Hill's time. Look at all that's been done since. All starting with the belief that it could be done.

We all have the answers in us if we'll only take the time to stop and listen.

Beth
