Money And Frustration: 3 Steps YOU MUST Follow To Become RICH
This letter was written especially for YOU.
It's one that is long overdue.
One that will hopefully get you angry.
And one that will be addressing your most pressing need; MONEY.
Well it's January now. And winter is on my mind.
Actually, Lake Tahoe is on my mind.
Since I live here in California, it's always been a desirable destination for me because it's close, utterly peaceful, and provides me with an amazing experience - consistently – every time I go!
So I was just online trying to choose a cabin for a 5-day getaway this month for me, Tiffany, and our baby girl Rylie Skye. (Rylie has never been before, but I know she is going to love the snow!)
The cabins we're trying to decide between are in the $800 to $1000 per night range, and as a result, I got angry and decided to write to you...
You see, I got angry about money. But not the $800 to $1000.
I got angry about $70.
$70???
This is how much a buddy of mine who plans on taking his girlfriend (whom he totally adores) to Tahoe this month, is dead set on spending per night for their motel.
And it's not because that's how much he wants to spend, it's how much his “budget” is allowing him to spend.
He says he would much rather stay in a nice cabin as long as he could find one that's “no more than $70 a night.”
How sad is this?
He wants to take his girlfriend who has never seen the snow on a winter holiday. He wants to give her something to smile about. He wants to create a one-of-a-kind experience to add to their relationships' book of memories. And he is letting money stand between him and the experience that he would really like to create.
You see I'm not just angry about his mind set. I'm angry for everyone out there who has no mental or physical limitations or disabilities, but insists on limiting their experience of life with a disabling budget of $70 per night!
Let's face it, if you have to settle for a $70 a night motel, instead of demanding the $1000 a night cabin for a Winter getaway, it's time to find a new plan. Because the plan you are on sucks!
But I know, it's easy and acceptable for you to settle at this point, because you have spent the majority of your life settling for less than what you really want and are truly capable of.
Isn't that pretty pathetic?
I think it is.
But you, you really need to decide how you feel about this.
Are you going to continue to be okay with having to let money be the one who makes your choices for you?
How long will the first thing your eyes see or touch on something you like be its price tag?
If you are going to settle for less than what you really want when it comes to having an experience, why even make a half-hearted attempt?
Are you afraid of giving yourself more than you have ever had before?
What's holding you back?
All you have is one life.
Why spend it just 'getting by'?
Why spend it simply surviving?!
Acknowledging Your NEED For Wealth...
Now rich to you may be $100,000.
It may be $1,000,000.
It may even be $100,000,000!
Whatever the amount, be sure it is one that will, if you were to stop working today, support and enable you to continue your and your family's current lifestyle indefinitely.
Financial wealth is your tool of increase and means of enhancement. It is designed to replace poverty and a limited means of living. And will serve to enhance love, happiness, and true friendship.
Each day, more and more people are falling for the deception of “job security” and “retirement”, and waking up to the truth that becoming rich is not only a want, but a necessity in our world if we wish to protect ourselves, and the ones we love and care for.
You cannot simply drift through life continuing to feed the illusion that the limited amount of money and possessions you have today, can't be gone with the wind tomorrow.
What if you were seriously injured – losing use of all physical resources that you depend upon on a daily basis to produce money and support yourself?
How long would it be before you were economically wiped out?
Three years? Three months? Three weeks?!
Whichever it is, it's time to ACT!
It doesn't matter how old you are, or how long you have been procrastinating on making the jump to financial freedom. What matters is that you are going to do something about it NOW.
I'm hearing more and more these days, and I have even said it myself in the past, that “people don't want to be rich, they just want the lifestyle that being rich will give them.”
This is true for most people, but guess what? In order to truly experience abundance, and have the freedoms of mind, body, and spirit that come along with that experience, you will have to get rich.
First in your thoughts.
Second in your habits.
Third in your bank account. ;)
And for those of us whose primary operating currency is the US Dollar, the future threat of hyper-inflation will soon be a present reality.
What will happen to your “lifestyle” then?
What will happen if we are only living like millionaires, and not living as millionaires?
One can only imagine...
You must decide TODAY to shift your focus from simply covering your bills each month and having a little extra to spend on entertainment, to becoming rich.
Yes, rich.
Why make money if it is going to make you anything less than rich?
You know, I didn't start thinking about $1000 per night accommodations after I had it to spend, I was thinking about it before I had it.
That is why I have it now.
And this is how you will have it.
Getting rich is not an accident.
Becoming rich CAN happen for you.
But only if that's what you really want, or believe you really need.
3 Steps In The RIGHT Direction...
Assuming you have already made it clear in your mind the life you really want for yourself, I am now going to prescribe to you the following 3 step system that has enabled me to live the life I truly want.
In order, they are;
1. Choose one book as your guide.
2. Choose one business or idea as your vehicle.
3. Decide to get rich.
1. “Choose one PROVEN book that is relevant to your success and becoming rich.”
You can ask anyone who has reached the upper levels of worldly success, and they will usually give credit to a single book.
Resist the urge to crowd yourself with the overabundance of books, courses, and seminars on wealth and success. This will only paralyze your mind and prevent you from deciding on a clear plan to follow, and a definite direction to go in.
It is said that Bill Gates attributes his success to “The Master Key System” by Charles F. Haanel.
I was told by Brian Tracy himself that he gives credit to “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill for his material wealth and success.
And although I have read and thought on many books on material gain, it was the application of “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles that ultimately led me to big money, and will continue to lead me to even bigger money.
After you have chosen your book (which is really a map), you can develop the skills necessary to putting the information in your book to action. These skills include, but are in no way limited to; Effective Selling, Marketing, Communication, Team Building, and Leadership.
But let me say this, you must spend more time THINKING about what you read than on the actual reading.
2. “Choose one idea or business as your own, and stay by it until you reach your success and become rich.”
Where your focus goes, all energy flows.
It is a rule, with very few exceptions, that people have NOT gotten rich by dividing their energy into multiple ideas or businesses when they first started out on their path to wealth.
From my years of study, practice, failure, coaching, and interviewing countless business owners, I can tell you confidently and directly; In order to get rich, you must choose a single idea or business and stick by it until you get rich. Then and only then, can you diversify into other ideas or businesses and become richer.
Choosing a single idea to revolve your success around and having the stick-to-it-tiveness to see it through until you become rich, is a common core philosophy of most of the classic books on wealth and success.
If you firmly believe that your primary business or idea is not going to help you become rich in the way and time period you desire, than you will have to consider an idea or business that will.
3. “Decide to become rich.”
This step is your guiding principle for all 3 steps. And here's why...
Decision is the key to experiencing anything you wish for yourself. Yet this part is what most people miss.
You see, decision is entirely different from choice.
Choice implies there are multiple options and alternatives. And that if for some reason you're not happy with your choice, you can always change your mind and fall back on others.
Decision on the other hand puts to death all other choices, leaving you with a single path to commit yourself to and follow. It is the cutting off of all alternatives, directions, and hoped-for outcomes. There is no changing your mind. There is no falling back. There is no escape and no retreat. You must follow through until you succeed. Because you have consciously eliminated all other options.
The application of this concept helped me to become clearer about my own wants and needs, increased my personal confidence, and provided me with greater decisiveness. It also helps me to avoid the anxiety associated with indecision.
So the moment you choose, decide.
The Time To ACT Is NOW!
I highly doubt you're gonna catch Donald Trump, Tony Robbins, or even Mike Dillard peaking over your shoulder to read this letter. Why? Because they are already rich.
But you're reading it. How come? I'm sure it's because you aren't rich.
But you can be. And you should be.
I have no doubt in my mind.
If I did, I would not have taken the time to write.
Getting rich for most people is nothing more than a good idea, or a change tied to something like the broken philosophy of a New Years Resolution they would like to make, but never actually follow through on.
It should be more than something that is limited to their wishing when they are hit with an unexpected crisis that requires more money and credit than they have access to.
I think intuitively each of us knows that we can get rich by following the 3 step system outlined above, but we get so caught up in doing things how we have always done them. Even if we aren't getting what we've always wanted.
So stop meandering through that maze of lack, anxiety, and emptiness. You don't have the time for this.
And please dont simply agree with what I've said here, and just leave a comment of agreeance or approval and move on. I want you to leave a thoughtful comment of what you are going to do to get rich in relation to the 3 step system.
This will show you are serious about taking action, and inspire those who read your comment to get serious about taking action as well.
You will not help anyone else to become rich unless you first become rich yourself.
This is serious.
This is your life.
You must take charge and make the change NOW. Right now. In this moment.
If you are going to have an experience, have it! I mean, really have it!! Do it big!!!
And this is what your life is; An experience.
So have it. Have this experience be what you really want and need it to be.
Remember, when you choose, decide.
You must get rich!
To Your Peace And Success,

Love This Letter
Hi Charles
This is a great letter.
I made the decision to become rich a while ago and I have been working diligently towards my goals since.
I can really relate to your $70 a night friends life (like the majority of us can). Having money dictate our lives sucks in the worse way.
When I decided to get rich I set my first major goal and made it public. I posted it on my blog, my youtube channel, told my upline and people in the industry I admire exactly what I wanted to achieve and when I wanted to achieve it by.
I did this because I was a massive procrastinator. I wanted to apply extra pressure on myself so that I wont slip back into the 'road to nowhere' mentality.
Since the 'decision'. I have set my plans, stuck to them and things have started to change for the better.
My future is bright, and that's a great feeling

It's not I can't afford it but HOW CAN I AFFORD IT!
This friend of your limited himself by only setting a budget of $70 per night. Rich Dad Poor Dad says never say you can afford it but ask your self how can you afford it?
Lets look at this you are looking at cabin for about $800 per night. What would it take for him to afford to spend 2 nights.
Pick a product to market. How much will you make per sale? Lets say you make $50 per sale. How many sales would you need? You would need $1600 for the cabin plus some spending cash let says you need $2,000.
40 sales x $50 = 2,000. Now lets say you ONLY have a 1% conversion rate 40 sales x 100 = 4,000 visits.
Respectfully,

Awesome Letter
Yep I am 21 years old and I decided to get rich last year in 2009. Getting rich is totally a mindset that you have to protect in order to prosper. The more your a around people that think broke and are broke you will be broke. It's better to be by yourself than to be in the mist of broke minded atmosophere.
3 for 3
Hi Charles,
I like this post because it makes no apologies for NOT settling for less.
Just the other day, I had some loser comment on my blog that my wife and I "are obsessed with money" and that we "should admit to pocketing the money" from a charity we support.
Well, how else are people supposed to get rich if they aren't "obsessed" with money?
And the other part of that equation is that we have been giving $100 a month to this charity, even though we are nowhere close to reaching our financial goals, yet.
That may seem like a lot to some people, but we have made the DECISION to be rich and to be able to contribute more.
But it is something we care about and we know that we will be able to provide even more when we make more.
As far as the 3 areas to focus on, we are 3 for 3!
1) "Think and Grow Rich"
2) We have an MLM we love
3) We "burned our bridges" and quit our jobs one year ago (We have no choice but to make it)

You Nailed It!!!
Wow, Charles, you hit the nail right on the head.
I am constantly amazed at how many people are willing to "settle" for less than all that they deserve. Even when I show them an opportunity that will make them a "little" more than they're making now (and when I say "little," I'm talking about a few hundred a week--for most people today, that would be HUGE!) with absolutely zero dollars invested, they refuse to take advantage of it. They envy the lifestyle money can bring them, but they're uncomfortable with the concept of being wealthy.
As Yul Brenner said in The King and I, "It's a puzzlement!"

The Why's and Why Nots
Great article and I found why I hadn't made my decision for almost 10 years! I found I didn't "think" I deserved success, I allowed my family to rule in my head that people like us don't succeed at anything other than a secure job.
Well, I am reprogramming my mind and behavior with a program recommended to me by a great lady, Juanita Waterman, and it is working wonders. Think Right Now is great no matter what area you are struggling with. http://bit.ly/7S13Ce
I will succeed, I am setting goals with definite deadlines and I have stopped procrastinating and I am not afraid of success. I deserve to be more successful than my family and I am a strong leader.
I appreciate all of the wonderful people who have gone before me and the nuggets of truth they choose to pass along for our benefit. Thank you all and I will be one of you passing along my nuggets, too.

My thoughts exactly.
Thank you Charles, People need to hear this message and I for one will be sending it to all the people who I have been telling the same thing to and always get the same answer. "But the reality is that I don't have money" They have not understood that the more they reinforce that the more they manifest it. As you said where thought goes energy flows.
I have just finished a book "Natures Light, which highlights the fact that we are not UNLIMITED if mind body and spirit is connected and balanced and that we manifest into experience what we think and speak.
look foward to working with you.

Focus
Focus is exactly where I am now. Thank you for writing the article it confirmed things for me.
Fits in with a book I am reading: Why We Want You To Be Rich by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki. Also, learned a great acronym for focus in this book: Follow One Course Until Success
You're right - I get off track by reading too many books. I have 1 now that I am reading every month for this entire year.
DECIDE, COMMIT, DO
You nailed it. Most people do not make COMMITMENTS. When they do and don't follow through, they usually have an EXCUSE.
Something I learned many years ago, "There is a difference between INTEREST and COMMITMENT. When you are INTERESTED in doing something, you DO IT only when its CONVENIENT. When you are COMMITTED to something, you accept NO EXCUSES, only RESULTS." This was on a plaque in a close friend of mines office 20 years ago. It is my mantra anytime I have something big that I want to accomplish.
This year, our DECISION has been made for the company we will spend the rest of our lives with and promoting. We are COMMITTED to doing whatever it takes to achieve our dreams.

Hi Charles,
this article really brought it home for me simply put, "it was right on time." at first I thought you're being funny about $70 thing, as I read on, it was kind of sad. But then at the very end of it all the story you wrote is very inspirational to me.
It definitely keeps everything in proper perspective for me, and why I say that? Because it reminds me to stay focused on my goals in life. To round everything off into one sentence, I hate poverty. but I love prosperity.
God bless you, and your family Charles.
