Now that I have this business, now what?
I 've always likened personal development in business to owning a sailboat. You see its magnificent bow and tall sail as you imagine gliding over the water being this proud captain of your own ship. You envision yourself handling the challenges of the wind, and the waves as you proudly direct the boat on the waters.
However, without ever having been instructed or trained to operate the vessel you could end up never leaving the shore. Or worse yet, start sailing out to sea and heading right into a pier and not knowing how to steer away from it, you crash into it.
So it is with your business. Learn to master your business (like a seaman who masters his ship) so that you can handle all the issues that you face. Become skilled at presentations, handling objections, answering questions and display a role of leadership. As the captain of the ship, the mates look to you to provide the information to the crew for a smooth sail. The same with your business. A captain knows everything about his ship, and so it is with you to train and develop your crewmates to become captains of their own ship.
Only through your skill, knowledge and leadership will your business flourish and become successful!
