Hand Me the Shovel! There's Another Weed
Each spring I love to go to the Garden Center and purchase small bedding plants for my garden. My main job as a gardener is to care for the young flowers and keep out the weeds.
I’ve learned that it’s best to take a shovel and dig the weeds out one-by-one. Once the tap root is dug out, it is more likely to not return. It’s not a job I necessarily enjoy…but when I become neglectful, it’s astonishing how quickly the weeds take over.
Chapter 4 on Autosuggestion (Think & Grow Rich), reminds me that my mind is like a garden. If I neglect it, destructive thoughts (weeds) will choke out the positive thoughts (flowers). By protecting and nurturing my mind, the positive thoughts continue to flourish. Eventually, the weeds will not grow so easily.
The weekly Mental Cleanse Master Mind group is crucial to my continued growth. Each week as I delve into another aspect of my belief systems, I am digging out the unproductive weeds and fertilizing the thoughts that will yield prosperity in my life.
The visualization of what I want has to engage my senses. The picture I hold in my mind is getting clearer. The more of my senses I engage and the more emotions I feel, the more real it becomes
You see, I want enough money so that I can buy plane tickets to visit my three grandchildren whenever I want. I visualize getting on a US Airways plane and landing at the Colorado Springs airport. (Not just once a year, but whenever I need a hug from one of these little ones!)
I hear the music as 5 yr old Cambria practices her ballet and tap. I smell the concession stand popcorn as Gavin plays his first T-ball game. And I hear Ella giggle as she takes her first steps…not from Skype, but from across the living room.
Just like I have the choice of the types of flowers I plant in my garden, I choose the pictures of what I want. When I fertilize these pictures with emotions and desire, they take root and grow, and will be manifested in my life.
Thoughts are things,

Perfect Analogy
You've created another wonderful "visual" to help others understand the brilliance of Napoleon Hill in his classic Think and Grow Rich. Thank you, Margi, for sharing your wisdom.
Love your imagery!
Thanks Margi for reminding us all of how we need to see AND feel our visualizations. I have no doubt that your autosuggestions will take root and will manifest. You'll be going Colorado at the drop of a hat! =)
