Golf and Your Business
I was watching a really great video clip from Anthony Robbins on Golf and your business. If you haven't seen it visit my webpage in my business building tab.
Understand this about ball flight: If your clubface makes impact with the golf ball in a slightly closed or open position the ball can really go offline. The interested part is that it can just be a milimeter off to a perfect shot. A small adjustment in your golf swing can dramatically improve your scoring ability and at the same time a small timing issue can cause poor results. Relate this thought to fishing. I love to fish but I sometimes don't feel the difference between a nibble and a snag. When a fish nibbles at my hook do I get too excited and pull the hook right out of it's mouth? Do I wait too long and now my worm is gone and so is the fish. Do I spend time thinking a snag is a fish and my energies wasted. Becoming a good fisherman takes years of experience, a love for the sport and loving what you do so you don't give up and learn to get better. You also have to learn from those who are experienced who can teach you. The same is true with golf. Golf takes practice, education from teachers and playing the game, Alot!
It's exciting to think that when I feel like I am not getting the results I want in anything in life I may be just a milimeter away from success. Keep trying, keep learning and the success will eventually come.
For those who are golfers, here's my free golf tip of the day! Enjoy.
I am not a runner but I know for a fact that runners warm up and start slow before they go 100%. So many times I see golfers show up at the golf course 10 minutes before their tee time, maybe hit a couple of shots and off to the first tee they go. Is it a wonder when things don't go well? Try to get to the course early enough to hit at least a small bucket of balls and start your round ready and positive.
Everyone's warm up is unique and certainly is totally up to you, but if your routine isn't working try this.
1. Start your warm up with some stretching. Young or older your muscles really do need to be stretched for ultimate flexibility.
2. Start hitting your shots with a club in your bag that you like and swing smooth.
3. Next pull out a club in your bag that you struggle with. Make a fun drill out of it. Hit 3 or more shots in a row well. (what's acceptable is for you to decide but remember you're going to the course and target golf is the goal) It's good to put that club back when it has behaved, lol.
4. Once you have completed #3 move bag to a club in your bag that you have the most confidence in. It is so important to go to the first tee with positive thoughts. Love it when someone is hitting balls at the range, things don't go well and off they go. Hmmm, wonder why their round doesn't turn out the way they wanted.
5. Remember that this is a game. If things aren't going well you probably need to practice more. If you're struggling, get some help from a teaching professional. (Even the best PGA players have teachers every day)
6. If your round goes well, keep some notes on what you did that worked so great that day.
7. If your round didn't go so well, take a little time to go back out to the range and practice the shots you struggled with the most.
Encourage those who are new to golf to enjoy this incredible sport to the best of their ability. Your best and someone else's best is only relevant to their skills and abilities. I always cheer for someone when they hit a great shot. If there is only one than at least they had one. Tomorrow will be more. It is a sport for everyone to enjoy a day on top of the grass with friends and family.
Hope this helps,
See you on the Links!

I love to teach and help golfers get better. It's many times about understanding ball flight rules. Once you understand this very important factor it is easier to make adjustments in your game which will result in a more rewarding and accomplished day on the links.
Sometimes a little advice can fix big problems. If you're having a problem just ask. I might be able to give you some tips to make you better.
