No network marketer left behind

Remember the saying “No child left behind”?  What about adding “No network marketer left behind”? Not that we should place more importance on adults career moves (if you can call it that – most would say a pipe-dream) vs. a child’s education.  It’s just a common phrase now that made me think of “why” should network marketers be left behind.  Why should there be a 95% failure rate in this industry.

I mean, it’s legal (for the most part the businesses – but can’t vogue for the affiliates working for the companies).  It can be financially beneficial, be mind-blowing as well as mentality accelerating!  But it can also be a big pain in the butt.  It can not only shove you into the commoner 95%, but collapse families, burn bridges with what use to be strong friendships and break your bank account.  It’s like a drug.  Ever heard of the habitual MLM’er?  There are those out there … and a lot of them!!!  But what is “the pill” for that?

There’s a pill for everything you know?

The promise of wealth: Whatever that is to you.  Be it financial riches or freedom, can drive you to throw money at anything that shows even a sign of that guarantee.   “THE PROMISE” of:

• Don’t worry, I’ll do it all for you and place people under you.
• I’ll show you how to “duplicate” what makes me rich.
• I have a script you can follow that works every time.
• It’s an investment into your future.
• You can pass “your business” down to your kids.
• It will get you out of the slum you’re in now in less than five years.
• Watch Dani, she’ll show you what to do.
• We’re a team.  We work together.
• Come to this conference call.
• Come to this home meeting.
• Come to this seminar.

Which by the way, the later three are more motivational types that are NEEDED in this business.

What you’re not told is the very one key that can give you the success that these “strangers” or maybe even a family member who has been convinced, that there is one main ingredient to making this all work.

Just one.

Any takers on what that is?

Consistency.

Now the tools you buy, the sites that are built, the monthly payments to the MLM companies, the learning curves you go through (basically becoming a sales person and/or Internet marketer … or better yet mastering the skill of savvy communication) may be needed.  I’m not disregarding the seminars, the buying Dani Johnson books and CD’s, reading up on Perry Marshall or even the latest on Mike Dillard’s become the hunted series of books, cd’s, videos … etc.

Quite frankly I say buy what interests you, read it, study it and more importantly experience it. Just don’t give up.  Once you do … 10 years later down the road you’ll hear from an upline or maybe old downline that is making enough to quit his or her day job.   They may not be millionaires (those, my friends are about in the 1 percentile – let’s just be honest), but living comfortably.  Why, because they didn’t give up.

You did.

Where are you now?

Still broke?  Being pissed off at MLM itself, or blaming others for the failure, or transitioning into company after company because “they” make promises that will make it easier for you to achieve your goals.

It really doesn’t matter.

What matters is “before” you decide to give this a try (or even continue to go forward), you first need to ask yourself and honestly answer the question of:  “Do I have the staying power”?  Yes, money does play into this, and you have to remain conscious about your budget.  But moreover … can you consist?

If you’re honest in your answer and the answer is NO, then walk away with your head held high knowing you were at least honest with yourself and gave it a try.  You’ve learned a lot along the way that may turn into something you didn’t even expect … something even better than you anticipated.  Go do something you love instead.  Something easy to you.

If you are driven (not addicted to promises – the habitual MLM’er that just can’t face up to facts), then GO FOR IT and GO FOR IT SMART … STRONG … CONFIDENT and consistently!  Never waver.  If you do, pick yourself up by your boot straps … dust off … and do it again and again without fail.  What I mean “without fail” it doesn’t fail to go over and over until you make it to where you projected yourself to be.

So … where are you now?  What’s the answer to the BIG question for you?

This is with anything in life folks.  Not just with MLM.  But with your own business, family, friends, work or whatever … you make of life, what you want.  It’s true!  There is no bad luck.  It’s the luck you make.

Cliché?   Yeah, but so what, it’s true.

Live long enough and you’ll get it.
